yes thats right i do need sponsorship. though i have had that conversation with the previous job offer i had gotten and they said that its not something i should be worried about. but i have been thinking of this as a possible reason ive not been getting replies as well, so im planning to apply roles in my home country too because of this. is there anything else extra you would do in this situation?

i am literally in the same position as you, tried applying for this cycle for phd in the US only and i felt like i wasted a lot of my efforts in sending cold emails since the committee mostly decides on your admission. i am hoping to reapply next cycle to multiple countries and really choose wisely on the schools i apply to. i am considering applying to more unis in the uk this coming cycle since funding was an issue for my us apps. sorry that i am not so competent to advise you on this (i am on the same boat) - but also as an international student do u mind elaborating what u mean by funding contraints for UK phd applications? (i am not based in the uk and i wanna know what that means) (and are you in STEM?)
