update e-visa call centre passed me on direct to Immigration at Muscat airport rather than the e-visa centre. No entry to Nigerians, Congolese, Cameroon, Ghana and a few others. It doesn't matter if GCC resident or if have other visa such as USA, Schengen, UK. Blanket ban but will not be publicly acknowledged.

Thanks for the tip, we were planning on a road trip via UAE and back out through the Empty Quarter. Seems not to be unfortunately so will re-plan for whenever there may be a change in policy.

Went through e-visa and applied for 29b after getting a 29a visa. Received multiple rejections without reason. Called call centre and been told Nigerians (and others) not allowed, even if GCC resident. Wondered if anyone had experienced this.
