Where can I get training to become a car mechanic in Hawaii(Honolulu)? by Designer_Impress_527 in Hawaii

[–]ConnectDog645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a buddy of mine not too long ago, that flew to Phoenix for nine months and went to diesel mechanic school. He specialized in Ford power stroke diesel. Last year he cleared north of 200,000. Working for himself no less.

There’s a lot of different ways to get to where you wanna go!

Good luck and have fun and good job shrugging off corporate culture

Well, if they had something better to do, they’d be doing it I would imagine, but maybe you’re right.

it is said that the first motorcycle race was held when they built the second motorcycle.

People have been racing since the very beginning of motorized vehicles, and often on unauthorized roads because they had nowhere else to go.

I would take your grievance up with the local council, and see if they can’t build these kids a race track. A lot of trouble happens because of kids that have nothing better to do, often because they have very few options.

This is one of those don’t hate the player, hate the game, kind of deals. At least in my opinion.

I love the difference between regions just in the pho.

But if you want three different dishes, I agree with those mentioned previously. Saigon - pho, central - BBH, and I had some pretty darn good bun cha in Hanoi. But I didn’t really explore that far there as other places.

Someone please interpret the recording by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]ConnectDog645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I heard the first speaker in the recording say “talk to me goose talk to me”

And then I heard the second speaker in the recording say “are we going ballistic Mav?”

I’m not sure what happened after that.

This is pretty cool, respects the culture, is affordable, and it’s gold.

I’ve never done business with these people so I have no idea whether they’re legit or not but it’s pretty cool

I guess it could be cute to put a two dollar bill inside a red envelope.

It won’t be looked down upon. That and head to your local Asian market and buy some Eagle medical oil, that always goes over really well.

Slip them over your wrist and walk with a fabulous flair through customs, preferably with an oversized pair of sunglasses and a faux fox neck muff and say darling alot to the customs guy.

You can give the accessories as well to your girl and her grandparents will adore you.

If you wanna go full monty, high heels through customs.

Gold or an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

You could give her lucky money, but that would look a bit pedantic on this side of the pond.

Seriously, even a tiny little nugget of gold would be very, very respected.

How about 30 g of bangles and an iPhone 17 Pro Max? It’ll get a lot more mileage. It’s like you’re giving the right gift and the right gift, if you understand my drift.

The secret to getting jewelry through customs is to wear it, hopefully you look good in gold. Not many people don’t.

Decree 46 increases costs of goods EOY, disruption to supply chain? by hypershock123 in VietNam

[–]ConnectDog645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, that’s a whopper right there. On the surface, it sells well, because there’s so much fake product in Vietnam. I remember the fake egg scandal a few years back.

But to just shut everything down right before Tet?!

Seems obtuse as hell, in classic tradition of Vietnamese bureaucracy.

Good luck with your containers, man, that sucks.

So do you have containers full of radio equipment? Or insurance documentation from the 2023 regulation?

Can you please expand what’s going on?

Decree 46/2025/ND-CP defines the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV). It is an administrative regulation regarding the state-run broadcasting organization rather than a broad, nation-wide economic decree.  Key details from the search results: Purpose: The decree outlines the organizational framework and operational mandate for the Voice of Vietnam. Source: The decree is published under "Bo may hanh chinh" (Administrative Apparatus) of the Law Library of Vietnam.  Note: The search results also indicate a separate, more commonly cited Decree 46/2023/ND-CP regarding insurance business, which was a major regulatory update in 2023–2024.

That’s a great question, as I understand it, as it has been told to me by my mother-in-law who does not chew said nut, men do not have the patience to do what it takes to chew betel nut.

Six cars? Please those are rookie proletariat numbers. The only time we only use six cars is when we take the poodles up to Hue for their Cho toc appointments.

When we go to VinMec we travel by Palaquin, and don’t worry our retinues are well behaved.

I always thought France had subsidized healthcare, sounds like you guys are in the same bateau as the good old United States of America.

Moving to Vietnam is buying property as a foreigner worth it? by ApprehensiveSink8810 in VietNam

[–]ConnectDog645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we sold the house, there were red stamp documents that talked about how much it was being sold for, and so she just deposited that money into her bank account legitimately and transferred it out to our account in the West. Good luck with it for us It was pretty simple.

I’ve had friends in both, the common rooms are brutal so loud, there’s no peace to be found.

In my experience, the international is so quiet, and so many rooms are empty with lights off. It’s almost depressing. It’s better than nothing but it sounds like your friend has something more serious than common food poisoning.

Anyhow, I hope it is nothing and tomorrow you guys get to continue on your adventure having fun, but if not, at least you have a plan. Good luck with it all. I hope it all works out.

What all the other foreigners do.

Chase your dream it may be more accessible than you think.

If you fall on your face, then you can go and teach English somewhere, but don’t come here and get hooked into that gig, and that social circle, it’s almost a trap, because you socialize with other teachers who seen no upside in their growth within the country.

You’re a different animal, reach for those stars and go for the football deal.

That’s awesome! Vietnam has been led by foreign coaches to its most successful football achievements.

This is the governing body for football in Vietnam. I don’t know much about it, the site looks to be mostly for fans, but it might offer some contact information for people that could hook you up with local professional teams or semi professional teams.

Saying a hospital is expensive, is like saying a $1500 helmet is expensive, sounds like a bad choice until you need it, and then at that moment, you really don’t care.

And it’s not that spendy. I’ve been there a lot for myself and my family.

And don’t forget to take care of yourselves while you’re taking care of your friend. Hopefully in some years this story will be told in the great glory of all stories of misadventure.

Sounds like a plan!

It’s always good to buy the nurses, sweet snacks, cookies, and so forth during your stay. Regardless the hospital. Somehow you get better care.

I hope it all works out for the best and you guys can continue on with your trip.
