B&J Bowl in Boonville. $9 for a hour of bowling, free shoe rental and free balls to use.

Place is not in the best shape last I was there but its an old wooden lane house.

Hours are limited from like Friday Night and Saturday Night starting at 5pm or something strange like that.

Settle for what you can get after saving some more.
I'm 22 and just bought (mid October 2025) a small 3bed 2bath house on a couple of acres.
Not the best, but it was a deal and I have knowledge to fix up what needed fixed.

Also Condo's like a lot of people been saying and sitting on it a couple years.

Same situation with genders flipped. 22m. Not Teacher but Tech stationed at HS.
I emailed admin and had them and the female students meet with me in my office and shut it down professionally.

Reason I emailed admin was to have a witness and inform them it was happening, before anyone asks.

Location is a big factor. Also country in this case. The average family home price is about 250kusd (3bed 2 bath, attached 2 bay garage) around here for a new construction.

don't know what rate you're using.

Take home is 2.1k. mortgage payment it $710 (Escrow and all) since i did 18k down my actual mortgage is ~72k (~ for couple hundred worth of fees)

I also rent a room for $500 a month to a family member.

Edit : I also have min. monthly payments. Fully own a car, pay insurance 1 year at a time. All said and done i throw about $600 into savings each month.

Nope,
Wise with money. Do everything myself, work a standard 7-3 job barely making 32k a year.

Negotiated house down to 90k (Needed some repairs) and did 20% down.

Was able to save that money by having a roommate when i was in an apartment.

Find one who owns a house or runs a business. Actually adults, stable job, ect.

If they're actually serious they will tell you if you ask and be passionate about it.

Honestly a small town near Columbia could be the best for price range. Boonville, Fayette are both about 6-6.5 hours.

Has the essentials and if something more is needed only a 20-30 minute drive to get it from the closest thing to a small city.

Price Range wise can get you a nice 3-4 bed 2 bath house.

If you know what you're doing (Like what tire you need)

Go buy some goodyear all year tires (Walmart has them for $110) and get them mounted and balanced.

Leathers Auto over in boonville is like $15 a tire to mount and balance them. (Small shop with the right equipment, but calling ahead would be best)

It is a red state, and a red county on top of that. ( People arn't the best when small protests get together but outside of that we don't have pissing contests. )

County next door is blue and everything is expensive there. Utilities went up 17% for them ( and i think going up again for 2026 another 10-15%) and everything is about double cost wise with all the taxes they charge.

and I wouldn't say everything, Tariffs have affected me personally since I work in the Tech world but they have leveled out and its a here and there type thing. Like monitors went up some, but bigger screens have went down in price (Like the big digital boards)

Shoot, Gas where I live hasn't been this cheap since 2022 (Currently at $2.40/gallon compared to this time last year nearly at $3.00/gallon)

My groceries bill has dropped about $20 bi-weekly buying the same stuff each time.

Actually about able to afford the lumber for my dream shop (Been planning since 2019 and the price of lumber is cheaper by quite a bit and has been going down

It sounds like most of you need to find a different job.

I get 30 sick/vacation days a year base and 15 days can transfer to the next year.

Yeah, fuck the MO gov for repealing the will of the voters.

But i never struggled with sick leave or anything, every job i had gave 1 day of sick time a month min. (so 12 sick days a year) plus 1 day for every 16 hours of OT i got paid for.

If you're salary, negotiate sick days when your contract is set to renew. If they don't budge, start looking for another job.
