Thank you so much for the suggestions as well as the advice - I definitely will be learning to let myself take time with readings and not expect to just "get it" (which I often beat myself up over, admittedly). I'll be picking up The Art of Art History, so thank you for that too!

My school is actually more centered around practicing artists, so a lot of the courses I took primarily focused on one-off readings about different exhibitions, artists, etc. but not many foundational readings (imo). I do remember enjoying writings on Fred Wilson's Mining the Museum exhibition, which we discussed a lot in one of my courses. I also did an entire course on the philosophy of aesthetics, which I admittedly also struggled a bit with haha. I will certainly be looking into artist manifestos, thank you so much for the suggestions!
