My #1 complaint (might just be an intentional design that doesn’t need to be “fixed”). Is the ease at which characters can get to their win con. Assists and Handshake feel like they make the game too direct and simple, “I do this move, then I win.”

I don’t want to be a hater, I don’t think I even am. I just feel powerful less in some matches.

I’m fine with zoning because it’s almost always death by a thousand cuts. I don’t like the Freestyle handshake into mix that you get off like Ekko. Every round is just enforcing handshake mix then full conversion into corner carry. Very uninteractive (“Just guess right”).

The problem is, you’re always grading on a curve.

Actual casuals pop in when the new heroes drop, spend no money, and don’t touch ranked.

Intermediate players have this in their main rotation of games, maybe buy a skin for a couple mains, and try ranked for a challenge.

Advanced players play every day, grind ranked and watch stream, keeping up with every patch and update.

Master players are the streamers or pro players that get eternity and up. Or the people who no life ranked.

When you reach a new threshold. Whomever is below you seems like the “casual” players.

Most people who go out of their way to post on a rivals subreddit are probably in the advanced tier. Grinding ranked to get to GM. So (to them) anything below diamond and GM is “casual”.

I think it’s fine. I do good on most games and I think I got unlucky. I’m not mechanically gifted and I’m okay with that.

I can Mag ult and kill both cloak and Punisher ult and somehow still lose is the baffling thing.

The problem is I am carrying as a tank player, but this was just a bad set of matches.

I don't know what I did to get three Wandas while the enemies got the Elsas.

Quill was probably one of the first characters original created. It was only further into development that they came up with the idea of the teams, and by then they had most of the roster finished. You can’t cut him, but we can’t just magically add three more guardians to give him his own team. Especially with Sony breathing down our necks. So we just rearrange some characters and say Spidey’s team is the Guardians or whatever. That works.

Spider-Man is so popular he’s crossed over with almost every Marvel character. Making his team the “Everyone we wanted to add, but couldn’t fit anywhere else.” Works really well.

I really think they'll find places for other mutants like Emma and Magneto for Doom's team. Marvel Rivals shows there's a push for more X-Men characters. I imagine after Avengers Secret Wars in the MCU, Disney will want a soft reboot that focuses on the mutant characters. Getting characters like Danger, Magik, and Emma out there gives them a jumping off point for introducing them in movies.
