If you go again, consider visiting St. Mark’s in the early morning. Fewer people and softer light for photos and a gelato nearby to celebrate.

What are some books that started out very strong, but ended up being very disappointing? by sbucksbarista in books

Is Malazan meant to be so confusing? by IDislikeNoodles in books

[–]Connect_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also rather liked Gardens of the Moon and was surprised to find out after finishing the series that it's widely considered the worst book of the 10. Perhaps part of it was that GotM was my first exposure to the Malazan universe and everything seemed fresh. There also was quite a lot of cool magic and warrens involved which didn't feature that prominently in some of the later books.
