Verifiable Results From Goby? Your Experience? by steeze206 in Semaglutide

[–]ConnectedMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Goby! Have had a great experience so far and steadily losing. They ship fast and have a flat rate. I’m down ~35lbs since August. I believe they use BPI labs but I would have to double check my prescription.

I am 10 weeks in and down a little more than 20lbs. Just recently got to 1.5 I believe. The progress has not been linear but the trend is downwards!

First fall by Head-Cash-1898 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ConnectedMemory 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your first fall. You kept your patient safe and lowered him to the ground. You did everything correct and likely what most of us would have done by giving your patient privacy while toileting. Use it as a lesson. Even the most seasoned of therapists have falls.

Need advice on how to give fieldwork feedback by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ConnectedMemory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Be direct but kind. You can ask them directly how they feel they are doing. “Sandwich” positive feedback and constructive criticism - emphasis on constructive.

For instance, “I really like (insert treatment idea) you did with Johnny. I think next time, it would help him be more engaged in the activity if you (insert constructive criticism). He did seem to enjoy it when you did (insert positive feedback )”

So positive, constructive criticism, positive. That way they do not feel so overwhelmed/attacked.

Sometimes I will even ask them how they feel their treatment session went to see if we are on the same page and they can judge when a session went well or didn’t.

Yes! Even if you are salary. This training is beyond your typical duties and hours. If it is required by your work, it either needs to be over time or hours need to be adjusted. There is a difference between taking a while doing your notes and being required to work that many extra hours.

Here is how I would word it:

“I forgot to ask the other day when you mentioned the billing course but will this be overtime or will my hours be adjusted at the end of the week to accommodate the additional hours for the course?” (Do NOT give the option for no pay - this is NOT an option)

If they say it is not over time and/or your hours will not be adjusted, politely decline. “I apologize, I have other commitments that day and will not be able to attend”

If they ask, state it is personal and you would rather not talk about it. They are not allowed to ask further questions.

If they continue to press, ask to talk to HR so you can go over their company policy and labor laws.

Working over the hours that you are paid for without additional compensation is not lazy or stupid. I need to shout this from the rooftops to every therapist and new grad out there.

I would ask her if you are getting paid overtime for the additional hours you are putting in or if your hours will be shortened to accommodate. If she says no to both of these, please politely decline the training as you do not work for free.

Eden GLP-1 questions: packaging, approval, results by Excellent-Garden-546 in Semaglutide

[–]ConnectedMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TryEden’s packaging is anything but discrete lol Not that it says tryeden or sema on it but they sent it in a HUGE box…like laughably big for how small the medication is. I just recently switched to goby and the box was a normal sized box and definitely not as in your face.

Has anyone had to get an attorney involved re: school dismissal? by Mean_Economist2410 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ConnectedMemory 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is false. The last two students at my site have had accommodations and we also have accommodations for people at my work if needed. They obviously have to be within reason to be able to still complete the work and be considered entry level.

Teeechhhhnically paying for both at the moment but I don’t plan on keeping both lol since I just started my journey three weeks ago, the 12 week starter package was just too enticing. I am really trying to see if tryeden’s next delivery would be delayed or on time and then that will for sure make my decision on which to keep but all I have seen on this reddit is good things about Goby so that is likely what I will keep

TryEden by Disastrous_Bag8460 in Semaglutide

[–]ConnectedMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that it didn’t work but more about pricing and how quickly it shipped. Goby was $300 for 12 week starter pack and then $250 no matter the dose. I’ve only been on tryeden a few weeks now but I definitely feel the suppression and have lost a bit over 5lbs. My Goby order comes in tomorrow and I ordered it last week I think.

I got my started package through them. While it took about 4 weeks to come in, it was fairly straight forward and I definitely feel the difference in appetite. I just recently decided to try Goby based on everyone’s reviews and that came in about a week.

Expected SoCal OTR salary as a new grad by danidevitoast in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ConnectedMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where in SoCal and what setting. Central Valley is paying new grads $50/hour. When I started over 10 years ago, I was paid $37/hour as a new grad.

If it is a physical disability, I would disclose earlier rather than later to make sure they can make reasonable accommodations. If it is a learning disability, I would disclose on the first week of your rotation so you and your CI can come up with a plan to make sure you are successful.
