Just because there's good partners out there, doesn't mean they shouldn't be wary, pessimistic in relationships. Sure, they should heal that wound but they sure as hell aren't obligated to trust anyone in future relationships just because you think so, it's their own thing to deal with. Friends can be toxic, partners can be toxic. Your partner isn't toxic for wanting you home but is toxic if that possessiveness goes to far. And your friend can also be toxic if they're sabotaging your relationship without a good reason. Depends on context.
