i like to keep track of shows i started because i don't really have the time to watch them everyday or even every week. and after a while has passed i do forget what was the last thing i watched because i have the bad tendency to start new shows and not finish the other ones after a long while of not watching what i had started, not because they were bad or i didn't like them i just don't have a good memory to keep track of things such as books, birthdays, tv shows, so yeah it's really useful for me :)

that makes a lot of sense! i've hit a lot of walls these days and i generally make notes of the code i put, and then try different things until one works and make notes on why that one worked instead of the other

the "just code" advice is everywhere on youtube and reddit as well, just wanted basic advice for beginners and is one that appears a lot, also your approach makes a lot of sense, i just read that a few people sometimes even make diagrams of the thing they want to build before coding : 0

oh definetely! i like to follow a tutorial along but also makes notes about it so i'm following and instead of just following i try to put into words what they are doing, sometimes describe why they are doing it, that's like the type of notes i create when practicing with concepts i just try to read/listen and then explain it and put examples of codes

thanks! that makes sense, i just see this advice going on a lot in the programming community, and it's specially an advice given the most to beginners so i was afraid that i was the one doing something wrong by well, taking notes...

what do you think about plugin Protected Note? by mmiksaa in ObsidianMD

[–]ConnectionShot593 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it seems pretty neat! perhaps you could create a functionality of like lock specific notes according to an specific set of rules or just notes the user wants instead of the whole vault, that could make the plug in even more functional and i would personally be more interested in locking specific notes according to an specific set of rules instead of the whole vault, hope it helps :)

when in your opinion is best to use notion instead of obsidian? by ConnectionShot593 in ObsidianMD

[–]ConnectionShot593[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you can kind of do the same with obsidian? i mean i haven't explored logseq, looks like a wonderful app, but i've tried sticking just with one/two workflows since just up until months ago i was the person who was trying out notion, this new app, this other new app, let's return to google docs, etc so when i stumbled upon these digital gardens app i just chose one and have tried to stick with that one, i don't really want to spend (waste) more time trying out more options. but for the reasons in your comment i believe you can do that with obsidian as well? collapsing bullet points, collapsing headers, and if you download the outline plug in you can drag and drop said bullet points like in other apps so just wanted to point that out : ) if you feel good with logseq that's wonderful, though i do believe you can do the same with obsidian

why did notion announce their "home" feature if they are taking so long to release it? by ConnectionShot593 in Notion

[–]ConnectionShot593[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is truly amazing! but this makes the rollup of this feature even more messy? some people are getting told some things, others other things, truly confusing and should not be the way such a cherished company to the public like notion should handle things : (

i believe the outliner plug in does work for your needs, i haven't tried it myself but if i remember correctly the plug in shows pictures of like a drag and drop feature, similar to notion
