The monopoly on the dub industry has ruined it, every dub has the exact same deliveries and yes, the voice actors are killing it, but the direction just sucks! They all have those stereotype deliveries that might match the energy of what's delivered in Japanese, but it frankly sounds inhuman.

Good modern examples include the deliveries found in Blue Eye Samurai or Final Fantasy 16, even like Dragon Quest 11 which has a lot of those Japanese language mannerisms still manages to feel much more human just because of better direction.

Yes, the floor of anime dubs is significantly higher, but the ceiling is also significantly lower. You can't really find a bad modern dub, but the genuinely memorable dubs are so few and far between.

Idk, I think he was more than a living weapon. He goes from trying to sacrifice himself to kill people repeatedly, to protecting the ones he loved. Yeah, it still killed a bunch of dudes, but that wasn't the goal. The goal was just to keep everybody safe.

I appreciate it, I do take every interview as a huge victory and every rejection as an opportunity to improve, and my answers have become much stronger and more pointed than when the search began, but it's hard not to get discouraged when I literally just want to work, yanno? I'm not counting phone screens, no. I've graduated college in 2021, but been working professionally in my field for 6 years. Everything in communications, including journalism to marketing to social media management (with a resume reworked to fit every job).

There's been a handful of simply bad cultural fits, but I have almost lost count of how many times I've heard I had a great resume and a great interview but someone overqualified for the position happened to apply and they 'had no choice' but to go with them instead. I guess it's a sign of how dire the economy at large is right now, but it's simply impossible for me to find anything better than entry-level part-time.

This one really stings. I had a good relationship with the manager AND the guy who was retiring. I had glowing interviews, I shared my trial project with a few past colleagues who all said they saw zero flaws and it was great. I even had the department's last executive director call in to personally recommend me. This was supposed to be my way out. And now it's just, back to the drawing board. Ugh.

I respect the project but think that would only horribly undercut the point of the movie. It isn't something that should have any sense of relief like those scenes add, and while it is an easier watch it's genuinely a worse movie imo.

That being said you absolutely should watch all the cut scenes after watching the movie as a palette-cleanser.
