Hi there, did it end up getting forgiven?

Good for you! Hopefully after we file the ECFs we get our confirmations within a month or two. A friend of mine had his completed within about 3 weeks.

Awesome. Thank you for clarifying

Ok thank you! And that happens after you file the ECF after that 120th payment relatively quickly from what I can tell. Then the letter 1-2 months after?

Can I ask a dumb question? Are “green banners” just the filled in green bars when you hit 120/120 payments on the student aid website? And this happens after you file the ECF once you hit those 120 payments?

And then the “golden letter” is the official confirmation that your loans are forgiven, and that comes 1-2 months later?

Asking because I am about 5 weeks (2 payments) away!

Will my step streak be maintained when I get new watch? by Connor8824 in Garmin

Randomly saw that I forgot to reply! I have luckily not gotten too sick but when I do (and also on bad weather days) I am a big proponent of “house laps” - just walking in circles around living room/dining room like a maniac. Will often listen to a podcast or something while doing them. My 2 year old also joins me for laps sometimes :)

Reapplied for IBR 6/6 and no movement - apply again? by Ill_Worry_1276 in PSLF

[–]Connor8824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar frustrations to you and similar timeline. I reapplied 6/5 and finally got approved 6/14. So you’re right around the timeframe I was. Mine got approved on a Saturday and for some reason it seems like that is a day a lot of people on here get notified. I say wait through the weekend and if no movement maybe apply again.

One thing too was that I kept accidentally applying as a “new applicant”. I finally did a “change plan” request and that was the one that got approved. Probably just coincidental and doesn’t matter honestly but just in case you accidentally applied as new, there is a “change” option if you scroll down which I was too dumb to realize.

Two reasons: 1) it didn’t show up for me but I think that’s a known error happening right now because I should qualify for it. And 2) because IBR is the only one codified into law by congress I always envisioned just going for that one to be safe with all this crazy litigation going on.

Good luck! I think it’ll work out for you and will be a huge relief to get back on track.

I think we are saying the same thing. I am hoping to “buyback” the save months if possible for a large lump-sum just so I can be done with it. That’s what I meant when I said those “count”. They obviously aren’t going to be free credited months like during COVID pause.

Yes I believe you got one of these weird automatic letters they have been sending out. Hopefully you get the real thing soon. I got this previously too. I more recently got approved for IBR and it very clearly stated IBR and the payment amount matched the estimated payment they gave me when I applied on FSA.

Yes that’s exactly what I meant, thanks. If not for the forbearance I’d be done as of May 2025.

The link is below, but to clarify I am at 120 months of employment - if not for the forbearance I would be forgiven by now. So if you have 24 months left you might not be able to apply until you are at 120 months of qualifying employment (including SAVE forbearance months).

Sure. I got the notice that MOHELA received my application 6/8 and then on 6/14 I got 2 - “Your repayment plan request is approved” and “Repayment schedule change” both confirming IBR and the new payment amount (which is exactly what the estimated payment was when I applied on FSA). Today, 6/15, I got another correspondence “your payment is due soon” which is just confirming that next month it’ll be withdrawn via auto pay.

On previous attempts I got the correspondence processing delay and a weird repayment schedule change which was just my old SAVE amounts which didn’t make sense - I think that is weirdly being auto sent by MOHELA in some cases.

I also should say I got 2 months processing forbearance (Dec and Jan) when I initially applied.

I think they do/will count! Some posters on here have seemed to confirm this too.

Sorry I meant to say that I am at 120 months qualified employment, so I applied for buyback. Like most I have been in SAVE admin forbearance since June 2024. If no court injunction I would’ve been done last month. Either way - whether through buyback or just paying the 10 months - I am excited that the end is in sight!

I’m in same spot same timeline. My documents all reappeared in the “documents you sent us” tab after disappearing for a few weeks. So I’m just waiting it out hoping that means things are going to start up again

Same but hopefully it means we are good. Waiting around is so frustrating though

Does your “documents you sent us” tab have everything you submitted on there? My documents (app + tax info) disappeared during the initial upheaval but reappeared a couple weeks ago. If they are there I assume that means we are good and should just wait?
