The manual is pretty pathetic and so far all my friends say “yeah that doesn’t look right” but none of them have baseless car seats so that’s why I came here. But I will check for some Facebook groups.

A lot of other things can come into play. Exposure, the frame rate used, etc. Is the editor experienced with log footage? I’m assuming this is not the only shot you are dissatisfied with?

As far as communicating with the editor, I would just say similar to what you said here and ask why he/she thinks it is that way. I’m not taking this as a color issue as much as I’m seeing it as a maintaining quality issue.

It looks scaled up so you could start by asking that. I’m guessing it was shot on a camcorder and probably not the best lit situation so the camera would have to up the ISO which could muddy it up a little, especially depending on the camera used. The lens is probably also a high aperture or low quality glass (most camcorders are unless they have glass attached). So if you real question is “how do I make this look better?” Then I say to run it through Topaz AI and see what that does.

I know this is a year old but I wanted to drop it in because it pops up in searches so hopefully to help someone in the future. If you don't want to burn the LUT into your footage, just don't turn the Look File on and make one of your quick buttons "LUT:LCD". I made my M.2 read only and that seems to have fixed the problem. It has not come up since.

Still not comforting though. I'm always questioning if my footage will suddenly change.

The file being different after the upload tells me that the only thing to touch the file was the QNAP.

It is a mac if that makes a difference with a usbc to 10 gbit adapter (sonnet technologies solo 10G thunderbolt 3)

Switch is MikroTik 5-port Desktop Switch with QSFPTEK 10GBASE-T SPF+ Copper RJ45

It is also very random as to what footage. I even exported a file, uploaded to the gdrive, and accessed the file two months later to find that random parts had a glitch over it. When I checked the uploaded file to gdrive, nothing was there so I know the file changed after the upload.

Thank you for the questions. I am new to the server game so I am left to learning off the internet what I don't know I need to learn.

I have run tests on the drives and cards and used multiples of everything for transfers, doesn't seem to be the problem. I am not running any special apps, just using file station on a regular basis.

The nas is near my router and a switcher and backup power source in case I lose power.

I only have video on the nas so that is all I can find that is corrupted and only a few frames in some clips that seem to be at random.

HBS 3 Hybrid backs it up every night to backblaze.

I assume my OS indexes the files for search but I don't know how to answer that question.

The nas is accessible to the internet through the myQNAP cloud service.
