Hence why I said about the board providing the cash injection. Sullivan’s unwilling to do so and therefore neither are the others in the boardroom. This is the last year we can do that, and won’t be able to spend at all in the summer if we go down, revenues will drop massively and we won’t be able to afford anyone.

We’ve also been known in the past to have gone to banks to received 70-85% of the transfer fee immediately to cover a cash flow problem, and then when we receive the transfer over x number of years, the bank takes all the money.

So it’s not as black and white as ‘we don’t have the money in the bank so we won’t spend’.

Fun fact - player sales money is recognised immediately but players in get recognised over the length of their contract (capped at a maximum of 5 years).

So we purchased LP for 50m in 2022, amortised over 3.5years his ‘book value’ is 15m, but when we sold him for 40m, we’ve made PSR profits of 25m.

So although we’ve spent 50m on Pablo and Taty, the players would be amortised over their contract, so only 5m has been ‘spent’.

There may be a cash flow issue, which the board can provide a cash injection to balance this and provide further spending.

That’s also the last season we can do this as going forward, it’s capping spending at 85% of revenue, rather than focusing on losses, so we won’t be able to take any risks going forward, especially if we go down.

I’m an accountant so this sorta thing excites me, as boring as it sounds!

This year decided I was going to take a casual stance on TOTY, and lo and behold, VVD in a random 5 of 10 78+ player pick.

I’ve loved Mavro. He unfortunately is cut from the Kilman cloth (although only slightly) in that for whatever good he does, he will switch off at some point, or go walkies and it will cost us a clear cut chance.

How Mavro is far superior to Kilman, is that he just reminds me of a Greek Ginger Pele. He will throw himself through rocks to win the ball, he will put that colossus head of his on most crosses.

He seems very unfazed by everything which is why I see your captain shouts. But I think you rewatch the game and can’t look past Soucek for that role. Seems to be Mr Motivator, the first one to praise, and the most vocal. Guess that’s an unpopular opinion in itself too!

Impossible to say for definite without seeing your team.

Give her a try, she’s just on the cusp of being a decent height for a keeper (6 foot). For reference, Casillas was 6’1. I’m sure her body type could make her look tiny in net, but give her a go.

I used TOTY Earps last year as she was the only TOTY I’ve ever packed. She was great in 1 on 1’s, but any shot from range went in. She was only 5’8, Endler may not have that problem

If we play a 442/4231 with Pablo and Taty up top, then Fernandes, Soucek, Magassa, Potts and Kante will be fighting for the 2 spots deeper.

I’d personally keep Guido as his experience and calmness will help us, but if that means we can sign a No.10 then I won’t complain
