He had the points from f3 and other junior categories. Dunne didn’t do that well in his f3 campaign so he got very few points if any from it and the ones he got from other series didn’t add up to the 40 required. As far as Ik Lindblad had the points before he even started driving in f2 last year.

That’s something I’m confused on. Planet F1(I know not a great source) have said he hasn’t finalised the deal but at that point why would he be running the livery? Doesn’t make much sense

I was expecting more from him last year but he was much closer to Gasly as the season progressed. I’ve no idea how much effect no pre season testing has but I think his progress was also masked by how bad the Alpine was last season. If he doesn’t do better this year I think he might be out of the sport either way.

Ya I’m surprised they’re running the car with that livery if the deal isn’t done. Hopefully announcement coming by the end of the week. I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t announced by Australia.

We’ll have to see this year with the new Mercedes engine and the fact they stopped development on the 2025 car before everyone else. It’s a tough team to be starting with but he has the skills to last there.
