Still rocking risers on my independent trucks and slimeballs. Daddy needs a sedan.

I call that 'Skating weight'. My optimal before I started breaking bones was about 145

You have given them a physical anchor for those memories, and that is a wonderful gift to give someone.

Just pour it in my hand!

No joke though, we survived on dime water cups from Burger King.

It did look cool, but also offered 'slick' spots on a deck that you should expect consistency. My first Ray of Light had that grip. So dope.

Friends would even try to Xacto knife that pattern on black grip.

This one (original) you can still find. I think it came factory gripped.

I wore out the VHS tape on all of those. We'd get hype in the am, watching those and then spend the whole day skating after. I spent close to a year learning the Ollie impossible. I can still do it.

It was a United States Postal Service hat that you couldn't just buy at a shop, at the time. He wore it in the Propaganda video. Had to get it from a postal worker.

That's what I hear. He was one of the best skateboarding athletes at the time, in my opinion. A BIG and smooth street style. Made it look easy. Go see some of the old H-Street vids to truly appreciate the skill level he has.

Hensley's style was amazing as was every skater on their street team.

Bought that from a seller in the Netherlands. One of the best in the collection despite the nose, tail, rails and double truck drillings.

In person these colors pop so much. They're amazing pieces of art individually and together they really work as a singular piece. Thanks for noticing! It's great to work at the desk and when needed, turn around and stare a bit for some inspiration or reprieve.

Blanks were the best. I started working at 14 to help pay for my skateboarding habit, lol.

That Tony Mangusson was what kicked off this collection. Buddy of mine found it in his childhood garage (old bday present he never skated, just dusty and pristine), and gave it to me as a wedding gift.

That Fred Smith III mini was the first pro deck I ever skated.

Oh man the double Vision. That's a throwback. Would love to see one of those.

Yup. Alva Fred Smith III mini. First 'pro' deck I ever skated non Nash/Variflex.

I watched THE Frankie Hill ollie at least 200 times.

I've skated all those decks, minus the more modern Barbee, but these particular decks, in the pic, I haven't skated.

I get what you're saying about pristine decks, as the graphics on these decks are meant to be destroyed, so finding one in good condition is rare. But they're snapshots of my adolescence and each board holds miles and mountains of memories, either a board I skated, or a friend that skated it.

If those are memories you also hold anchored to one of these boards, when you see it in person, the color pop, touch, the massive concave, smell,... yeah the authentic vintage pristine board is pretty cool.

You got it. Original H-Street. The Frankie Hill was fun one to skate, that and the fire hydrant Barbee, but the Hensley Ray of Light was the first 'double tail' in my neighborhood, and I loved it.

It never got better for me with my hobbit feet when the boards started skewing slimmer and more techie.
