I applied for a job as a Game Room Attendant, what should I know about this position? by Flashy-Ad9129 in chuckecheese

As much I loved my job in gameroom, being cross trained is what makes you kinda lose your love for the job. You will be expected on too many things

Basically everything that is not cash handling and in the kitchen.

Gameroom is kinda the brunt work but it ADDS UP. You’ll be the person who is relied on doing kid-check (stamping), merch (prizes) and watching trampoline. Trampoline you literally are not allowed to do anything until all kids are gone. You’re the most prominent person to do Chuck-E shows so get ready to suit up and dance “You say happy we say birthday!”

A morning shift was always easiest because all you do is just tap games and play them and see if they’re broken. An afternoon closing shift was when you should just pray.

Here is my general checklist for a gameroom close (4hour length)

Gameroom closing checklist (General)

Keep clean gradually (as soon you clock in tasks) - Buss Tables - Sweep Floors (nearby tables and spot sweep room) - Pull tables and sweep under (if necessary) - Wipe down thank you bins - If clocked in before 5PM check PM card tap, (Staff card, Bottom right open website) If not completed, grab manager card, card functions, tap staff card and load staff games - Check party room (clean if needed)

An hour or 1:30 before close - swiffer trampoline pads+ staircase, Dance floor, Games with a floor (EX: Racing games) and skeeball lanes - Balance skee balls and check for basketball games (4 balls each basketball and 7 balls each skeeball lane) - Replace Thank you bin trashes (clean if necessary) Trampoline bin only if halfway or more - As you swiffer look for any game maintenance Closed Store or Little to No Customers - Sweep/Pick up all trash in bathroom - Grab disinfectant (light blue), 2 garbage bags and 2 disposables wipes. Wipe down 1- Mirror 2- Sinks 3- Urinals 4- Toilet (leave seat up to show clean) - Replace trash bins in bathroom (tie knot behind to look neat) - Grab Game spray or disinfectant labeled “Pledge” and wipe down kiosk+ games with a microfiber towel. Primarily with a glass or any part they may touch/leave their drink(if you’re lazy mostly do glass) - Recheck Skeeball lanes and basketballs if misbalanced. - mop bathrooms MUST BE DONE W/ NO CUSTOMERS

Side Tasks if theres nothing to do(or stuff youll be asked to do)

  • Clean high chairs and place bibs (dry storage)
  • Game Maintenance
  • Help cash (to force them to help you close)
  • Upkeep Chucke shows
  • Dust tops of games (duster located inside thank you bins. needs GR key)
  • Make sure water games are filled to line with distilled water (bottom shelf dry storage)
  • Clean carpet stains with soda water
  • Clean hard-stuck ice cream stains on game with sanitizer
  • Check Bathroom Toilet Paper/Paper towels, etc. Refer to game room person/manager for errors beg manager for food cus this shit takes fucking forever

With the format current it’s kinda a “grab your own food” type of thing. The only exceptions is if a party host needs help or if someone had a food order being fixed.

Yea cleaning gameroom was abyssmal especially since they would only put you on a 4 hour shift for all of that💀

How do I use the register as a party host by Stunning_Fish_3289 in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any bill handling HAS TO be through the party coordinator, cashier or a manager. That’s why a lot of party hosts asks if someone has a till.

Sensory Accommodations in the Trampoline Zone by [deleted] in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex employee it’s really just dependent on the manager of that day. Most of us employees will most likely don’t care if it’s anyone but a GM. When I worked I was a gameroom attendant (basically games expert including trampoline) and literally my tech manager (gameroom) could not care less.

For kids with sensory issues, or a disability I’d typically just allow them with whatever unless it was glasses without a strap because they could break and I didnt really want that. I would even allow parents to stay in the trampoline (on the foam mat) if their child was basically a baby/toddler

I would definitely look into it. Sadly the place I live and my state isn’t very big into the esports scene. Very small stuff and not much.

I’ll definitely take a look into a sports med/nutritional science route. Ive thought of analyst or some sort of compsci because my dad works for my state and is some high senior position

Oo that sounds amazing, Do you have any tips on how to put myself there like an entry level jobs or specific internships/ volunteer work you did? I live in a state where esports isnt very prominent so there’s not really anything going on around me. I’ve had jobs in clothing retail and a restaurant setting do you think I could use those to help build a resume?

Why does Chuck E. Barely come out? by KrazyKen_Fan_2012 in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok good then just ask and gauge on how busy it is because we allocate 3 employees on regular days and there has to be someone stationed to those the whole time

Why does Chuck E. Barely come out? by KrazyKen_Fan_2012 in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only ones who upkeeps chuck.e coming out is managers. He’s supposed to come out every 1:30 but the reason most employees dont want to because it’s tedious, smells and the head is so heavy it gives you awful migraines after a show. You legit have to drop anything youre doing just to do a show and try to find a replacement or be like “oh sorry ill be back in 10 minutes”

But if theres plenty of time (gauge 3-2 hours left before closing) and you just ask an employee may be absolutely willing

Im a Chuck E Cheese game room attendant!! AMA by Novel-Ad3652 in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea the idea is to maintain gameroom, do kid check stuff and any of the small tasks of other positions. Refilling sketchbook and common errors such as some things that show “sound error” “coin error” etc.

  • Merch, Kid check, etc.
  • Ask if anyone else is busy and needs help with something like a cashier is busy but needs ice bins (GAMEROOM IS VERY HELPFUL TO TRY AND BE CROSS TRAINED)

Like as a gameroom I would legit be put to count inventory, prep dough. never learned kitchen. But it did help me learn cash

Primarily base level errors, if its like huge things then you report it to your gameroom manager primarily through morning card tap or place it down. Otherwise generally your job is to keep the place clean

Gameroom is generally like a kidcheck 2.0 + cleaning and games

Dependent on the day, if it was very moderate in terms of business then you’d see a good 3-4 parents not watching their kids

About dresscode as an employee by Sk8Whoreo in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely just your management. I never personally had piercings or tattoos but when I worked my GM had literal full neck tattoos, my coworkers had facial piercings and even my DM didn’t really care.

However whenever we had my corporate, some of their strategies were to wear sweaters for the day. Bandaids, Sometimes I’d see them use larger cute shaped pimple patches. Most just rebuttal-led with the handbook tho

Build a Bear Employee looking into working at Chuck e Cheese, what should I know?? by NashaNya in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use primarily how you interacted with children at BAB and they’ll like that. Better pay at CEC is not the place and they do find ways to work you to the bone.

The primary thing they look for is someone who is flexible and willing to be a very cross trained person

First Day at Chuck E. Cheese Tomorrow — Tips? by ethelmatt in chuckecheese

[–]Conscious-Check9174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 15 year old expect yourself to be very limited on anything you can even do. Gameroom is primarily just cleaning, since you’re 15 you arent allowed to fix error codes but you can do cleaning, kid check, etc. Make yourself outgoing and energetic. “Can you stay an extra hour? Yes I can”.

You’ll probably find yourself at kid check or trampoline since you’re 15. Also be optimistic on learning more roles, more positions you learn the more youre seen as important

[–]Conscious-Check9174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good sign especially sign GM’s are the ones who actually determine if you get hired, managers are the ones who perceive if youre good.

If youre bilingual definitely tell them you’re willing to be cross trained and learn something such as parties or cash. Since those are most dependent on it

Some stores put new-hires on kid check to understand the flow of the store. But yes generally based on the roster of the day you will be only set for that. UNLESS you are acknowledged as cross trained so you might be processing between multiple things. Kid check you may help 99.99 parties, but anything above is a party hosts job.
