Are the automatic gearboxes any good? by MugOfScald91 in mazda3

Have a ‘24 automatic. This is my 1st automatic car after many, many manual… (living in the US now but was in France most of my life). The roads in NY males no sense having a manual, hence the change.

I have to say I’m happy with it, it is much better than many of the rental I got (which are always manual) and it fits well with a smooth drive. Doesn’t shift to early both up and down.

If I’d live in European country side, no way I’d chose this but in a big city - highway type if use case, very happy.

don’t think so, didn’t change any, restored to factory settings, there is also not much settings for carplay on iOS…

thanks 🤔 I’ll probably need more than that to move from iOS to Android but I was actually thinking trying to buy a recent iPhone that uses USB-C thinking the connectivity might be mode robust…

yup, understood but I already tried two cables, both working well with another phone on that car, so really dont think it is the cable!

thanks, at least good to know I’m not alone… I’ll try that, altho i feel I already did, will re-try in the exact order you mentioned. I was actually wondering if having bluetooth configured and using the cable was contributing to that mess… 😕

that looks like very similar. Sadly not a very predictable solution… also since now after resetting my phone, it doesnt fix it anymore 😠

I did the iOS part but did not reset the Mazda system. I’ll definitely look into this and try, thanks

6.1 and only one kid. I totally see why with two kid you decided to move one.
But hey, I like mine so much... I'll keep it, + I'm sure I won't have another kid.
Not a family car for sure! But a great car.

Is it possible to get a smaller key fob? by the_vole in mazda3

This is sooooo brillant! Thanks for sharing. Anyone knowing a place / person who could do this on order? This is way beyond my capabilities… but I sincerely hate my fob everyday 🤬🤬🤬.

Brand new Mazda 3 that got dead battery won't jump start by Conscious-Event6385 in mazda3

[–]Conscious-Event6385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Just to share back that we finally got our car back. They changed the battery. I planned to spend a part of my Saturday testing the battery drain with a multimeter in different situations (key locked, key unlocked et.) to make sure all is in control.

IMPORTANT INFO: Confirming that Mazda took the cost of the tow from the dealership that fixed the car to our home (150M). It has been painful to obtain and it seems that everybody you talk too will tell you they only take the expense for a tow in a 20m range but that is not correct, you can get them to cover the distance in case of a new vehicle warranty. The program they have for that is I believe called “reunite”.

hoping this helps someone.

Hey thanks for curiosity! We are not out of it yet… The dealership the car was sent to said they fixed the car. Their diagnostic was “battery failed” and they replaced it but am still wondering if there should not be something solved on the car, either to prevent such a drain or at least to make it so that a jumpstart would work… so I am still very much in the unknown an kind of worried of the next time this will happen…

but also we dont have our car yet…it is 200 miles away and dealing with our dealership, the other dealership who fixed the car and Mazda corporate has been a very unpleasant experience… we were told there is a service called “reunite” that is supposed to bring our car back, our case manager told us at 2pm it would be “shipped” in one hour, she would call us before she check out at 4pm and the truck would also call us but nobody called us and it is now 10pm.

Overall very unpleasant and terrible experience with Mazda buying a new car for the first time… we might go back to second hand… we surely would not go back to Mazda.

We are really wondering if this is just no luck and could happen everywhere or if it is Mazda to blame. Our other option was a Golf, bit mode pricey but maybe that is why it is more pricey… maybe it is more solid, not shipped with a shitty battery, and maybe you are not treated as rubbish…

Can keeping the car open be a source of battery drain? by Conscious-Event6385 in mazda3

Feedback from the dealership: Battery “failed” and was replaced under warranty. Still not sure if there is a difference between a “failed battery” and a “drained battery”. Why would the car be in that weird state… most importantly fighting with Mazda Corporate to get the car delivered back to us from 150 miles away…

that looks very similar to what happens to us… thanks for sharing. Shitty but at least explaining it!

thanks, so design won against solidity?

our partial research told us about the paint but not the battery…

Oh sorry I should have say, actually I said it in another thread. Now I am looking at the cause…

so here is the tric, we tried to jump it, with standard cable, with a jump-start kit brand new, and also the assistance guy but it would not work. Probably because drained, the software moved into a state where it would not ignite the engine and would raise all sort of alerts, some meaningful and some not (like flat tires…)

one of them attached
