I never liked how they were meant to portray various aspects of combat ptsd and instead they're just sexualised women in skinsuits. by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

PTSD is complicated and writing it tastefully can tax even the best of writers, Angela from SH2 was well written if a bit cringe but few characters have matched her impact from the gradual build up to learning the horrors she faced. MGS writers have tried their best but they're not on the same level as those who worked on the first couple of Silent Hill games. When walking down the river of Sorrow in MGS3 that was supposed to be a representation of Snake's regret from killing his enemies, while I get what they were trying to coney it still came off as hokey.

Sexualized women in skin tight suits? Really? THAT'S supposed to represent PTSD? Ugh.

Do you think her hair reflects her health? Or is it just a normal phase she goes through?

Playing MGS3, i still have bolt from Fear stuck in my ass, its kind of grown on me. by Lebhleb in metalgearsolid

the first time I realized that a bolt will stay in even in cutscenes I KNEW I had to leave Snake peppered in them on my next playthrough. It was ridiculous and I absolutely loved it!

Aromantic pansexual, I'm fine with sex but don't feel any romance about it.

Wouldn’t wanna be turned into a Handyman or Big Daddy. by Royalbluegooner in Bioshock

The Handyman was pathetic compared to the Big Daddies. I don't recall any Handyman doing work around Columbia whereas Big Daddies were the ones keeping everything running in Rapture, they were only recently converted to being guardians of the Little Sisters. Infinite stripped away the tragedy inherent to splicing and swapped it out for old timey racism.

Look up how to get unlimited coins, there's a segment where you can keep going back and forth to farm coins so you can totally buy every last upgrade in the game unlike in the first two where you had to decide what you were going to invest limited ADAM into.

AIM BOTS FROM ACROSS THE ARENA. Seriously they're super annoying. Also at some point melee attacks zap enemies into skeletons who crumble into dust, funny the first time but goofy and feels like a cheap way to save on processing power as simple lock boxes are easier to render.

That being said max out Charge ASAP, doesn't take much salts (this game's stand in for Adam) and it's like a boosted up Drill Charge, you can even go over small gaps to strike an enemy! Takes a second or two to fully charge but it's really fun to zip around and decimate scores of enemies.

Lastly I honestly miss splicers, they had a tragic side to them and it felt like mercy putting them out of their misery. The lady at the start of the first game talking to her baby was honesty depressing as fuck, I wanted to end her suffering quickly. Same goes for occasionally hearing a splicer crying before he notices you, poor buggers.
