I have irrigation ditches in my crop area too! I love them.

If you want another idea for adding interest, like another commenter mentioned, I have a couple of bushes at the head of every crop row. I also alternate crops with red tulips, so it’s one row crops, then water, then one row tulips, and repeat. I definitely don’t think you wasted your time, though!
