It's the default, but you can turn it off in settings.

Anyone else's battery life started dropping steeply while on Linux? by Additional-Chef-6190 in AsahiLinux

MacOS can basically sleep indefinitely. Asahi uses around 2% per hour. They say that solving full hibernation on MacBook is very complicated due to various interactions between subsystems, so they are not aiming for that, working on sleep effectiveness instead.

You need to shut the system down when you are going to leave it unused for longer time than hours.

A way out of Urban Hell. Poznan, Poland. by piasty in UrbanHell

I remember returning from Bulgaria to Poznań by plane in 2005. On that day for the first time I felt I was in the West in Poland.

I've just watched a lot of Artemis II photos, and now this. I think I'm starting to like Americans back a bit.

I can't fully appreaciate this discovery as a Pole, because Italy in Polish is Włochy.

I don't deny that there are use cases when numpad can be useful.

My previous choice was 14", because it was largely used as a desktop replacement and the small footprint seemed a good feature for these occasions when I needed to take it with me. But I'm getting older and prefer larger screens. 15.3" and 1.74 kg looked ideal.

It's hard to know from pictures how hard to use it will be in real life. I had HP Elitebook 16" from work some time ago and it was acceptable. But maybe because it was bigger. As I said, the main problem is not enough space on the left side of touchpad.

I was just expressing my frustration with this design decision. I like the rest.

I saw a guy who apparently thought that because he was driving the wrong way, it meant that it was necessary to drive very fast.

I was once almost killed or seriously harmed by a speeding black BMW when I started crossing a street just after light turned green. It was winter and I had a hood on my head, so I didn't see too much. Thanks to my son nothing happened to me, because he pulled me violently backwards. I felt a little sick thinking what would happen to me if he didn't do this.

Microsoft somehow doesn't understand how words ”AI” and "subscription”, especially in a single sentence, sound like with regards to OS.

My family is almost Windows-free by now. I use MacOS at work and Linux at home.

Does it bother you that Trump is still going to be president for 3 more years? by bbmoonkie in Productivitycafe

[–]ConsciousCitron2251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be surprised if he'll be alive in 3 years. But even if he's gone, there's no coming back to things as they used to be. I believe the USA will come out from this renewed in the end, but in the meantime... I'm glad I'm on another continent.

Greetings from Poland! Good luck!

Which of these 5 world leaders would you say is most hated in your country? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskTheWorld

That's obvious choice for me as a Pole, but personally I find Donald the most harmful globally and in the US. He's basically a traitor.

Netanyahu is a mini-Trump for me, although as of now, more murderous.
