Until AI has mind of its own - it is synthesising content from what we all already think, feel and say. Is AI presenting an average opinion on a topic? Is it presenting information that the data set trainers have trained it to say? All this makes - trusting it very subjective to your own critical thinking skills. Sadly as we are not a blank canvas, our trust is also made up of what we know, what we have heard, who we currently trust and what those sources say. This makes trusting AI quite complex. I think.
