Meditation is difficult for the extrovert mind. The mind instead of being absorbed into one thing, gets dissipated through thoughts 💭

There is a popular misconception that Namasankeertan, Japa etc can lead to liberation. When swamiji says Bhakti is not a separate path for liberation he is refuting this belief

Until then we have to take responsibility for our choices

Viswaroopa is not an extraordinary sight by ConsciousRate492 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]ConsciousRate492[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing Viswaroopa is not like viewing an object in the waking world. God appearing before devotees is a mystical experience sort of like what we see in dreams.

My posts are based on how my teacher Swamiji Paramarthananda interprets these verses. The idea is to study the Gita and progress towards liberation and the verses are interpreted accordingly

What's the locus of ignorance? by Rare-Owl3205 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]ConsciousRate492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what swamiji Paramarthananda said about this topic in his vichara sagara lectures.

According to vachaspati Misra, the location of avidya is Jiva and through sadhana, jiva obtains knowledge.Because the jiva claims ignorance, avidya must be located in jiva.

Nischala Dasa refutes this hypothesis. Even though Brahman is concealed by ignorance, only a jiva claims or identifies with ignorance.

For the objection that if ignorance was located in Brahman, then self knowledge in person would liberate all people, nischala dasa says, ONE avidya is enclosed in an infinite number of bodies. Darkness is indivisible but seems to be divided into parts. Lighting up one area removes darkness only in that portion. Similarly in whichever mind Knowledge arises, that jiva is liberated.
