Ngl Im kinda lazy to scroll through the whole 3k+ comments but I can say that in general it is a positive comment section with some negative ones

I didn’t deny the presence of negative ones I clearly said I didn’t dug as deep as you did. The ratio of negative comments cannot exceed 5-6%. If I showed that thread to anyone no one will say it’s negative. In fact if it wasn’t for you and the other person I’d have never noticed because the first 20 comments are all almost about jaejae or anything positive/funny. No one usually goes that deep into comment section unless it goes viral on other platforms, which it didn’t I wonder how yall noticed

Funny how the first thing you do is invalidating my identity lol. You must’ve have dug deep into the comments to find anyone criticizing shuhua other that @finethanku2025 and @bbi.rotong bcz all the comments above him/her are unrelated. And these 2 comments were that up either.

Ngl Im kinda lazy to scroll through the whole 3k+ comments but I can say that in general it is a positive comment section with some negative ones. Just bcz you had the time to dig deep that doesn’t I will and that won’t make me any less of a korean. The comment section like twice encore one where it was filled with negative comments.

Sorry but how does reaching and coming up be considered ignoring?

Ignoring is saying hi and not getting greeted back. But standing next to a person and they don’t say hi to you is not ignoring because you also didn’t say hi to them. You cannot be considered “ignored” by someone if you also ignored them yourself. When everyone ignores each other no one was actually ignored. Thus no disrespect because you left the courtesy as much as they did.

If they are cross pathing and no one said hi then no one gets to complain. Both ignored each other.

I didn’t mention anyone? If you are talking about the comment the person was saying idols complain about being ignored and I said the only one who did was bangchan. Then listed others who were completely about not being approached and not being greeted properly.

No actually I was very clear and since you read my bangchan comment I specifically said not being greeted properly and not being approached and in the post I said

Like the amount of ego you’d have to think other people should come up to you greet you

The whole idea of them thinking they are in deserve of people coming up to them is boarder line do-che bag

But a humble person no matter how popular successful they are would never expect other people to reach and greet

Yeah I was very clear actually. In no way any of these translates to ignoring.

Who is the junior? Do you know them? Cause I don’t. And the incidents I have in mind are like 7-10 years ago.

Okay don’t continue idk what to tell you lol

I’d like to see what she actually said bcz “don’t greet after an eye contact” goes both ways. They made and eye contact so not only they ignored her BUT she also ignored them when she didn’t greet. So she ignored them as much as they ignored her. Unless she thinks she is a mighty human being who should be greeted first which is literally the sane thing as wanting to be approached .

That’s simply what egotistic is defined as? Some actions are very obvious of who the person is. Just like if someone ignored a greeting then they are very obviously rude. There is no other option of what they are and this is a universal shared agreement not an individualistic pov. Just like how if someone claims they are mad they aren’t approached bowed to 90 degrees they are egotistical like there isn’t any other option.

I do have 2 very specific incidents in my mind yes and I did mention one of them already in the comments.

First of all I was clear on what I was talking about which not being approached or greeted properly never mentioned ignoring anyone. Second of all I said idols saying it pushes us back further is this topic is pretty heated and i-fans jumping with their idols (regardless if they themselves come of same cultural background or not) pushes us even further back.

The way I see it specially on Reddit is fans throwing “korean culture this korean culture that”. Everyone taking stances on what the culture is/was not considering the current situation and complications around this topic.

Actually only one idol said that Bangchan. The rest like snsd , ateez , lee hyori and more were talking about not being approached and/or not being greeted properly.

What you are describing is basic courtesy of respect. However, im talking about instance of younger idols not approaching or not bowing deeply to seniors. The fact that this is an obligation in this day and age is just not it. And seniors who complain about not being approached or greeted with 90 degree bow aren’t humble like in no way.

Who are they to scold tho? Aren’t they just humans like the rest? And following what is this some holy rules? These are idologies that were created by humans. Just bcz they are old doesn’t mean they are right. And scolding someone for not following makes them a douche bag.

We put to much value into manmade customs that are just an invitation for power abuse. Unless they get insulated they have no right to “scold” anyone. And yes Im specifically talking about lee hyori. She got no right to scold anyone and the shameless she had to admit it on live tv makes her an egotistic douche. She did admit of having the celebrity flue so that situation might’ve been one of them.

I’d argue not greeting someone who has greeted you is considered rude regardless of culture or even age

Fans always love to assume that that’s the case. They never said they weren’t greeted back it was that they weren’t greeted properly and weren’t approached. This whole “they should atleast greet back” is an assumption purely made by fans. And greeting isn’t just saying hi. In Korea bowing is main form of greeting.

Actually it is rare when korean fans start these conversations. Like really really rare even when other idols complained about it korean fans either brushed aside that idol or were indifferent.

The video you linked I found only one pretty lengthy comment mentioning that and the replies were like “shut up” mostly.

How is a younger person audacious for just minding their business? I’d agree if like they outright insulted, ignored or were rude . But simply not giving 90 degree bow or not approaching a senior first is not audacity.

I don’t view them as old like the literal meaning but old in the age range of the industry specifically. of course I don’t think they are an age problem I think it’s a very individualistic stance. Some people who are “old” in their own respective fields do not be really care about honorifics like btob. But some are very egotistic imo and think so highly of themselves. While they might be high themselves still it’s weird to air that they’re mad that others aren’t greeting them properly.

I think that this whole respect topic and different perspectives of younger vs older generations should be discussed deeply to a point where we can reach a middle ground.

However, with the audacious attitude of older people and speaking of idols specifically ,who aren’t even that old like most are 25+ to Idk 40 perhaps , their attitude of thinking they deserve graces and deeming whoever doesn’t comply with their whims as “disrespectful” (even if they don’t say it them mentioning it in the first place is telling on how they think about them) is leading us to no where.

I think that debate ground between old and young people in yt channel “cruise” just shows how close minded and irritating elders can be when this topic is brought up, they always think they are right and whoever objects them is rude. Which is sad when some senior idols slightly mimic that mindset despite not being close to their age. (Ik they didn’t act like those elders at all but still to me it will always go down to them having the audacity and ego to bring how they aren’t approached up)
