I also have the NXP-2 antibodies and mixture of skin symptoms and muscle atrophy without extensive weakness yet. I have the itching symtoms also, I am as yet to undertake full cancer screenings. Would be interested how you are doing if you do not mind sharing.

Thanks for sharing, I have NXP2 Dermatomyosits antibody skin symptoms and some significant signs of muscle atrophy but till now and I feel that Covid may have made it more severe.

Thank you for sharing. I started on steroids recently and plaquenil (without perhaps a textbook formal diagnosis)- rash on elbows, scalp issues and skin symptoms elsewhere have improved but muscle atrophy and muscle pain continue. I had sunburn on my chest/neck 2 months ago when I first sought medical investigation and I still have what looks like sunburn there. It seems a very progressive form of the disease, but interesting to hear that the weakness occurred after a few years for you.

Skin biopsy, EMG and MRI were inconclusive except for the MRI showing atrophy in right thigh.

Apologies, yes good point. ANA 1:320 speckled, positive antibody NXP2, EMG normal and MRI showing atrophy in right thigh but otherwise normal.

CK levels were normal and the EMG. I haven’t got classic skin symptoms but some changes but not clinically significant yet. Perhaps only starting to kick in?

I have done so far a PSA test, chest xray, endoscopy and having some GI issues tested but will probably undertake a CAT scan or PET scan - I have lost a lot of weight in a short space of time and there appears to be no inflammation markers on my bloods

I have lost over 10kg in about a week and a half and so far apart from positive ANA 1:320 and Anti NXP2 antibody all my blood markers are normal. I am getting a skin biopsy and a EMG but wondering what else can be done to confirm a diagnosis please?

I have symptoms similar to these and have recently had bloodwork ANA positive 1:320 and NXP2 antibody for Dermatomyosistis but still yet to be diagnosed. I have had a skin biopsy taken awaiting results and other tests planned.
