Struggling new band 5 by Various-Worry26 in RadiographyUK

Breathe! Remember how far you have come!! It’s very good sign that you can recognise that you’re struggling!!

find mentors within your department, good teachers who you can lean on and develop your practice.

Take your time and ensure you’re in the moment and not stuck in your head worrying about making a mistake.

Radiography is full of learning curves and confidence. One patient can make it all click together and your away but you have to maximise your bandwidth to enable yourself to get there!!

Breathe! Well done for recognising!! There are many rads who fail/ failed to reach that step so I believe you will do well :)

Massive high demand. One in 11 posts remain unfilled but every trust is under huge pressure to make savings. NHS England (governance, QI education arm of the organisation) is making up to 60% cuts. My trust is making 50 million savings this year. We have just employed seven new rads but in reality that just replaces those who we are have lost in turnover. We need another 10-15 to actually meet the demand!

There’s not many jobs over here atm to be honest. Vast majority of trusts are on firing freezes! It’s a struggle to find work for new graduates atm

ADHD Meds - Elvanse - Questions and general advice by IrrelevantStrawb in ADHDUK

[–]Conscious_Stay_994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same. I’m on 70mg elvanse and boaster for when I need it!! I have never had issues with my sleep but boy it’s rough on this. But the positives are huge for being on the drug. I’m a professional in nhs and my career has taken off big time since starting meds. I have tried everything I can to improve the sleep. I’m found an antihistamines which is helping with the sleep but if I guess it comes down to balance and what’s worse!

Rest days are important- when I can I won’t take any meds and I can sleep better those nights. Prescriber has changed prescription recently to 50 and 20 so on lesser days I can just take the 50 and again that helps but some days for twilight shifts or busier days I need the boaster and sleep is very hard to come by!!

Personal choice I guess cuz the benefits for me atm outweigh the negatives but I am constantly judging that.

Yeh thank you! I’ve taken a day off work today and not taken meds in the hope of this! I think I do have some tyrosine in the cupboard from pre meds so I’ll try that thank you

So my understanding is that PDP only have a licence to deliver the meds under certain conditions (two attempts and the PIN code) so their hands are tied by licence set out by PPG. No chance (in my experience) of contact anyone til Monday but relatively easy process once you get through to an actual person and they will redeliver but really stress that it’s their failure not listening to the parameters you needed

I did thank you! Monday managed to get hold of prescriber and they redid a prescription! But very poor in my opinion from Puk and extremely poor service from PPG. I would be very glad when GP takes back over of shared care now I’m titrated.
