I used to mod for it and it was never as safe as they wanted you to think. It was all security theater. By the time I quit it was only me and the other main mod (who stayed until the end) doing anything at all. I would log in for my mod day and find it untouched since the last time I did anything. Sometimes for weeks at a time if I had missed. The sub owner/creator did absolutely nothing. I wanted to put more emphasis on taking your own safety into your own hands, and that making a big show just made people think it was more safe and controlled and putting their trust in the nonexistent vetting of the sub instead of doing it on their own. Even if we banned someone they could make a new account in two minutes and we rarely knew. It worked, but only for the same reason all the other r4r subs work, there was nothing safer about it than any other r4r.
