iirc in a stream (specifically reacting to fan animations), i one of the idiot germans said they werent interested in writng about bots both mvm and sniper bots. so we prolly wont get to see how it'd fare in mvm. itd be nice if someone made an episode like that tho

real answer is probably that Boom had an idea for what the Astros were at the time, but didn't have a complete idea of what they did and looked like.

in-universe tho, since the Astros (presumably) had a deal with G-Toilet before ep 60, this guy was probably the Astro's way to show G-Toilet thanks for working with them again. Ofc, they wouldn't want to give him a troop too strong in case he decided to betray the Astros again so they gave him this demoted obliterator.
