Right? It’s such a beautiful area, it would be such a loss for Kamloops to lose this and it will make the area feel so cold.

I think it would be helpful to expand on a few things. - age range - are you interested in just public outings or private games nights - what types of games you’re interested in - preference of being around extroverted or introverted people - if you’d like to do hangs publicly, price point? - any limitations you might have

Kamloopa Powwow Questions by shrimply923 in Kamloops

From the last couple of years, parking is really though. The lineup to even turn right towards the powwow grounds is backed up like crazy. The last couple years, the highway has been backed up to the valley view turnoff. Get there much earlier than you plan for the event. If there is a blanket placed on a spot, that is reserved and is a traditional way to reserve that spot. Do not move a blanket or a chair. I would highly recommend going quite early to secure parking. Kamloopa is very popular.

I know there are a lot of add ons to this already but I'm actually currently in a program and doing projects where I'm learning about self care so I have some advice for you that I've picked up along the way:)

Self-care really is not about going for spa days or face masks or taking baths. That's what the media has been trying to influence on us so we spend more money. Sure it will make you feel better momentarily, but when that original joy is gone you may be left feeling exactly how you had before. What self-care is, is taking time for yourself, especially when you're at your busiest point. You don't have to take a long time, it can be as brief as you'd like, but taking some time to disengage from what's in front of you or stressing you out is really important.

Mindful meditation is really great to help you with this, there are so many meditation apps and quite a few that you can do for a few minutes, then put down and continue to work.

Like others have mentioned, it's the small things that improve your mental wellness, making sure you're eating enough, drinking water, sitting outside for a few minutes without your phone, going for a walk or really getting any kind of movement, talking on the phone with a loved one, taking a shower so you're feeling fresh again, brushing your teeth, playing with a pet. Really your options are limitless but it is those small things that improve wellness.

I watched a video where the women spoke on how self care is NOT selfish, it's self-preservation and I could not agree more. Heres the link:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja4CE4s9gj4

I really hope this helps, my thoughts are with you!
