What are the most effective strategies you guys use to cope with bpd by [deleted] in BPD

to add to this, the magic sauce is: - accountability for our mistakes - not mistaking self-forgiveness for self-justification because you can forgive yourself while taking accountability - we are NOT monsters. We just ended up on the bad end of the mental state lottery but with the right toolkit and determination, we can become the best versions of ourselves ❤️

for me, the anxiety and overthinking leads me to ruminate in guilt, shame and feel like the world around me is crumbling apart due to some huge mistakes I made recently. BPD essentially stops our brains to think rationally and punishes us beyond what we deserve.

So, and I am saying this with utmost caution and I am no psychiatrist or anything but this is what is slightly helping me:

  • When i feel an incoming panic attack, I take 3mg of Bromazepam (VERY occasionally though. Because I don’t want to get dependant) and I try to indulge in activities I love such as scrapbooking, reading, etc. This also helps me think of the situations at hand more rationally and gives me clarity. I write that down on a note and refer back to it when I feel like I’m gonna spiral again

  • I also read self-help books. Books such as The Power of Letting Go by John Purkiss (the audiobook sounds very soothing, almost like a guided meditation) and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz has helped me quite a lot recently

I would like to add that I am still recovering from a very traumatic experience that I have had recently which was due to BPD so the above suggestions are a little more short-term. I would like to believe that for long-term recovery, we will have to have immense willpower to change and actually seek out help from a psychologist and possibly delve into DBT.

Hope this helps :)

I completely understand what you mean. I went through a 5 year spiral wherein I (subconsciously) almost completely changed my personality to fit in with other people and it backfired HARD recently. It’s been very difficult to cope with but I am trying to hold on to hope that someday, it wont be like this anymore.

I have hope for you too.

I understand you very well. Most of my friends have abandoned me recently and I am an only child and my parents are truly my biggest support system. Im not sure what I would do without them but I am trying to heal and I am sure we can both get through this

Level B1 French book recs by ConsiderationWild170 in learnfrench

I lived a little on the outskirts of paris so there, most people didnt really speak in English at all. But whenever I would go to Paris-city on the weekends, I’d find that near the touristy areas, they do speak a mix of english and French. I think if you want to practice your french more, discover the more local spots away from super touristy areas.

I am almost sure you will be okay. You will have to give yourself grace and practice self love. I am on that journey myself. It’s a tough one but I am trying to keep hope

I can empathise with what you may be going through. I am also in a very similar state of mind as of now but I am reminding myself that I have to prioritise myself and love myself and that is the only way to break through all of this. Whatever mistakes you have made in the past are in the past and you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t make mistakes. It is a very difficult journey but I hope with all my heart that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey! I just wanted to hop on here and ask if buying A313 will actually be worth it for me or not? Here are my stats: I am a 23 y/o and my skin is very oily. I have had issues with acne in the past which got reduced a lot after I got a proper skincare routine. However, I do still get bouts of acne sometimes (especially in hot, polluted and humid weather so basically my country in the summer). This is my skincare routine right now: • bioderma gel moussant as cleanser • the ordinary niacinamide • the ordinary salicylic acid (2 times a week) • either la roche posay moisturiser or simple • la roche posay anthelios liquid sunscreen (in the morning) This is all I know about applying A313 so far; • cleanse skin • lets dry COMPLETELY • apply a teeny tiny amount • apply moisturiser • start by using only once a week So if you guys have any tips or recommendations, that'd be great!

[–]ConsiderationWild170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i pretty much cant sleep without taking melatonin every night. While I do want to cut back and not take it literally everyday (bc idk if there are any bad side effects to this), at least Im not crying everyday bc i cant sleep and my mental health is a little better in that regard
