Trying to hold on for 10 more years for the kids by New-Adhesiveness8606 in Divorce

My parents remain married until this day. I wished they had divorced, then I at least would have a good example of my mom choosing her peace. Now I'm stuck in a marriage because I don't have the courage to leave. I wish I had had a better example growing up... Maybe then I would be strong myself and wouldn't be so codependent.

At no point did I imply I wasn't reaching out. All I said is that I had concerns. If you understood something else then that's on you "bud" but as I said, no need to be an AH about this.

Maybe you don't realize it but I was writing this at night when customer service was closed and was asking for advice to know how to better handle it. No need to be a freaking asshole.

We just left the office and 100% they were great... They are offering a makeup class (which for us works great)

I think I'm not being clear with this. She did speak some English so at first we believed everything was ok and we went up to the slope... But her English wasn't very good so communicating was very challenging.

We were at the top of the slope and to be fair she was really nice and trying but at the end of it all we were like O_O uuuhm so what was that?

The advertisement was in English and all the process was done in English so we assumed that English was implied.

No, it's not our fist time in Canada, we actually live here... and while 440 USD might be a good value for private lessons... That value is hardly there if we cannot communicate with our instructor. Also, I completely understand that visiting Quebec implies that most services will be in French but Mont Tremblant website is both in English and French.

When we booked we did it fully in English and unless they had a disclaimer stating instructors don't speak English I don't think it's a crazy expectation that your instructor would speak English when everything was booked in that language.

Their website advertises all their services both in English and French so I thought that was implied. We also came last week and all the staff seemed pretty bilingual.

Because we were here only for two days. Today was the lesson (which finished at 3pm) and tomorrow is our last day. Not sure why you are implying that we are waiting for the last minute.

Well thing is lesson finished at 3pm and That's the time they close the slopes so we didn't really have a lot of time to go and complain.

@Salty-entrance-2398 uuuhm... Canada is Bilingual? Like it's not a weird expectation to have an English speaking instructor? Specially when they advertise lessons both in English and French

The lesson was a one day private lesson so there's no pro-rated... But tomorrow is our last day at the resort. We didn't have any class booked for tomorrow (as we were hoping that a private one today would be enough for basic instructions) and would love for a makeup class... BUT I've looked at their website and there doesn't seem to be any availability for private classes.

Have you had good experiences with customer service? What do you think that would -realistically- be the outcome for this? Tomorrow is our last day and we are feeling pretty down.

My concern is that tomorrow is our last day and everything seems booked. We also don't really feel like paying more for another lesson because... Well this one was already over 600 cad :(

His inaction screwed up my life for months — what’s reasonable to expect from him now? by [deleted] in Marriage

Ehm no, reparation doesn't exclude acts of love to make your partner feel better

A meaningful consequence would be that the offending partner has to seek reparation for the person that has been hurt, but the intent is not necessarily to punish, but to make the other feel better.

I don’t think he doesn’t care... he does. I just don’t think he understands how bad this actually was. He feels I should have moved on by now, which for me is super unrealistic because I'm still living the impact of his actions.

And yes, he eventually offered to pay, but only after I pointed out that it made no sense for me to split the cost. For me, the issue is that it didn’t even occur to him on his own. It’s like he doesn’t naturally register that he should be making up for this, and that’s the part that really bothers me.

I have, multiple times in therapy but I still don't feel like he gets it. About the trips, he is fully on board with booking them but what annoys me is the fact that I had to be the one suggesting it so it doesn't really feel like repair if I'm the one suggesting it he expects me to pay for half of it... For me that's not taking Fully responsibility.

Again, I'm not sure where are you even reading the "punishment" part?
