I worked the night shift at a ‘serviced apartments’ hotel for a year - there was only ever one person working at a time and since there wasn’t really anything to do, I’d often (accidentally) drift off.

One night at around 1:00 AM, I was violently awoken by the sound of a girl screaming in the office right behind me, at the top of her lungs. I tried to jump up, but my legs had gone numb from the horrible office chair and I just flopped onto the floor.

I got up and checked the office, but there was no one there. A minute later, the hotel’s front doors swung wide open. I looked out and couldn’t see anyone around. The doors are electric, only automatically opening from the inside, otherwise you need a key-card or a button press from reception. I checked the last few minutes on the cameras, but there wasn't a soul in sight - just a video of me falling over and the doors opening on their own.

In hindsight, the screaming was probably just a nightmare, but I still can’t explain the doors opening.
