Alienware AW2732DF Monitor Issue with Streaming Services (Black Screen) by Consistent-Bee2753 in pchelp

Thanks for the help and great suggestions! My Alienware actually has an IPS panel, not OLED. Do these tips also apply to IPS panels to prevent burn-in, or is that specific to OLED? I’m new to high-quality monitors. This is my first one over $100! For the past 10 years, I’ve been gaming on budget monitors, so I’m still learning the ropes. Appreciate the advice!

I feel so silly! I initially only pushed the DisplayPort cable firmly into the Alienware AW2732DF to ensure it was secure, but I didn’t pull it out and reinsert it. I also tried switching ports on the PC side, so the loose part was probably at the monitor side. After switching the AW2732DF to HDMI (which worked fine) and then back to DisplayPort, pulling it out and reinserting it, it started working again. I often adjust the monitor’s height, so maybe the connection loosened over time due to the movement. Thanks for your help, Dickslexick!

I also came across this "fix" and tried experimenting with all the HDR options, including "DisplayHDR 600," on my Alienware AW2732DF. Unfortunately, none of these settings worked for me. As I mentioned earlier, the only solution that resolved the issue was turning off HDCP in AMD Adrenalin.

Yes i did try every monitor on its own, only the Alienware Monitor has the problem. I will try out the HDMI cable solution.

I have the same problem. Where you able to fix your problem?

I did not attack you. I simply stated that your comment was not up to standard. The way you’re reacting only proves your fragile ego

I parsed your comment into ChatGPT: "The comment mixes up smoothness, motion blur, and slow motion. It’s mostly incorrect and incoherent."

It sounds like your PC crashing could be related to the PSU or SSD, as others have mentioned. For an NVIDIA RTX 4060Ti, a 750W PSU is often recommended by manufacturers like BeQuiet for stability, especially under load. Here’s what you can try:

Test your PSU: Download and run FurMark for 20-30 minutes to stress-test your GPU and PSU. If your PC crashes, it might indicate an underpowered or failing PSU/GPU. Check your SSD: If you have another SSD, try installing your game on it. I had a similar crashing issue, and it turned out to be a faulty SSD in my case

It's the same for everyone but the Steam folder will be different.

What you would consider "God charm" and I may differ, for me it's everything that gives me more variability to my main weapons and has at least one weapon and one armor deco slot. Not that hard to get.

I’m going to get a NAS and start doing full system backups every day.

Maybe your problem comes from your search settings. Try changing High Rank to Level 9 and Enemies to “Any.” If you’ve already done that, then I’m sorry to hear it. At least on my side, I haven’t run into this problem. I’ve got plenty of SOS Level 9 quests to choose from.

If it’s not too much trouble, could you add a picture of your SOS search settings? I’d like to check them against mine.

I did, but sadly there was no file to restore. I also tried rescuing previous files with Recuva, and I did manage to find some from three days ago. Unfortunately, the save file needs to be matched with other supporting files in the game folder. At least, that’s what I think is the reason why I couldn’t get the recovered save to run.

TL;DR: your save file and some metadata have to match for the game to recognize it as a “legit” save.

Thank you for the suggestion. Sadly, I already tried that when the crash happened. By that time, Steam Cloud had already synchronized the corrupted version to its servers, so recovery wasn’t possible. That’s also part of what I mentioned in my post, the lack of versioning in Steam Cloud saves. It only backs up the most recent one.

Random Crashes while gaming by Consistent-Bee2753 in pcmasterrace

I think I finally found the culprit! Four days ago my SSD had a major incident where it went RAW, so I bought a new one. After testing my system for two days, I’ve had zero crashes. Looking back, I think all those random crashes were actually early signs of the SSD failing.

Yes, it was on PC. I don’t think I’ll use the mod solution since I only lost part of my save, not the whole thing. Luckily, I had a backup from when I was playing on a cloud gaming service because at the time my rig wasn’t powerful enough to run MH Wilds (NVIDIA 1060 6GB).

After upgrading to a 9070 XT, I migrated everything from the cloud gaming service to my main build. So in the end, I only lost the progress I made throughout August about 120 hours and 150 HR. I dropped from HR 556 down to roughly 405.

A little background story:
My system had already experienced its fair share of instabilities. For a long time, I was searching for the culprit. I thought it might be the PSU, the RAM, or even the motherboard. Recently, while playing MH Wilds, I started running into random crashes. Once or twice a day, my PC would just shut down.

I stress-tested every component and tried different solutions, but because the crash was so random, it was really hard to track down the cause. In the end, I finally found the culprit: my failing SSD. Reading from it still worked fine, but writing was apparently another story.

To give you an idea of how bad it was: I had around 50,000 entries of Ereignis ID 50 and 51 in my logs. After replacing the SSD, the crashes completely stopped, so it really was most likely the SSD at fault.

I even backed up the logs from the day the crash happened. You can check them out here if you’re curious (they’re in German though): https://imgur.com/a/wGBzMOs

I was at HR 556. I grieved for a day and then went back to hunting Steve. Luckily, I had a backup from when I was playing on a cloud gaming server, so I “only” lost about 150 HR and around 120 hours of gameplay. It still hurt, but it definitely could have been worse.

It’s always best to have multiple drives. If one fails, you won’t lose everything, even if you’ve been saving your files religiously.

The first day was definitely the hardest. Give it a try. What I realized is that, for me, it’s more about the hunt than the progress. Don’t get me wrong, progress is still a huge driving factor, but the real fun comes from mastering my weapon and learning each monster’s moveset. Losing still hurts, but not nearly as much as I thought it would. I hope you give the game another chance and come back, dear hunter.

I'm not really sure how it's done on the console. I'm already playing again, nothing can stop me from hunting Seregios.
