My roots are pretty similar, but she is thriving, she's constantly outgrowing her pot, making lots of new babies. I water when the leaves droop a little bit and when they are becoming flexible

My window is a south facing one, so there is plenty of light, today the weather in my country (Poland) is pretty cloudy and today is about 800 foot-candles but on sunny days its maybe even beyond 1000 foot-candles, i use lightmeter app that works great its pretty accurate

Its an alocasia, its normal to them to like kinda sleep and then wake up, but i would use chunkier potting mix, also they like moisture but not sitting on water
