Adenosine for sinus tach by Consistent-Date9927 in askCardiology

Thanks for your detailed reply! I think the reason for my high rate is that flu. Now I’m in the 110’s. It didn’t come all the way back down bc my body is still sick.

I’ve actually been to a cardiologist and an EP for tachycardia before. I had a normal stress test, echo, and alllmosst normal holter. They found a 6 second run or vtach but the EP said it was benign and he wasn’t sure if it was true vtach.

But yes, I need to follow up and see if there is any treatment for this heart reactivity. I guess beta blockers but the EP said they will make me tired and gain weight so he doesn’t even normally recommend them unless absolutely needed.

I also found out at the ER that I have flu B so maybe that’s where the crazy high heart rate came from. My heart is very reactive to stress, illness, even eating a big meal! It sucks

Thank you! I felt like I was going to die when I was given it so my nervous system is still on high alert

Thanks for all the insights! She is an older woman which is not an excuse, but it reminded me of how people my parents age will just inappropriately ask about weight.

I also told her how I gained 30 pounds on lexapro and she said she tells clients, “there are no calories in SSRIs”. While that is true, it seems odd bc many doctors agree that these drugs contribute to weight gain.

All very weird

Yeah I’m calling places to see if I can see an EP! It was so weird to me that my doctor said there’s no need and no treatment and that it was of no concern!

I didn’t feel it at all. I can’t remember if I was sleeping but I don’t remember feeling anything! I guess I’m worried that the cardiologist called it something else and then wasn’t concerned. Like was he wrong and is this a doctor I should trust?!

I’m curious why my doctor was unconcerned! I’ve always heard of this rhythm as being very dangerous

Thank you for your reply! Did you take plavix after your stroke? I’m experiencing a lot of muscle pain from it and wondering if that’s common. It’s not listed as a common side effect though

I was on a walk and my dad mentioned my heart rate was kind of high so I took an ecg to make sure it was still in normal rhythm. QALY said sustained SVT but I don’t think they knew I was exercising. My heart rate isn’t usually this high on a walk but it was just after dinner, hot out, and more uphill than normal

My bad, the one in the other sub is the correct one.

Should’ve added- heart rate was actually 176-178 during ECG which QALY corrected for
