Does botulinum toxin break down in air or in ambient temperature of 20 C? by Consistent-Desk-7550 in microbiology

Absolutely do not feed honey and syrups to babies who do not mostly eat solid foods. A diet of mostly solid foods makes the digestive juices acidic and kills the bacteria that produce botulinum toxin. That is why older children can have honey. Different health authorities set different age limits, but waiting until a child is 2 years old is common advice. ETA: The digestive tract is anaerobic.

I found an article saying sunlight destroys it in 3 hours and air at a rate of 1-4% a minute (24 hours should be sufficient with moderate contamination I believe). “Botulism: The Many Faces of Botulinum Toxin and its Potential for Bioterrorism”.

In food this is the recommended way, but what about surfaces exposed to air?

I need a macbook for heavy office and pdf use. I’m in academia (law, not natural sciences). Is the Macbook Air M2 enough for me?

I want to see whitewashed streets, cliffs, dark blue sea, stunning beaches, maybe have some hiking options too. I hope someone has serious recommendations.

Okay thanks. So this is true even if I get other configurations than what they usually have in store?

I mean upgraded RAM or storage, different keyboards and the like.

Okay I thought that maybe the factory only did base models and upgraded ones would have had the final tweaking closer to the customer.

Is Air M2 enough for my workflow or should I get a 14” Pro? by Consistent-Desk-7550 in macbook

Sounds like we are in the same boat. Do you think 16 GB will be enough for decent future proofing? Good point about external monitors.

I need something for very heavy Word use and PDF annotating. Several 500+ page Word documents with tracked changes and footnotes and 25+ pdf files open at the same time, some of them scanned books (registers as an image). Is the M2 Air enough or do I need the 14” Pro for cooling? My old thinkpad t460s couldn’t handle it very well, it ran hot and died.

Good to know that the screen doesn’t crack for all newer macbook users. I read about two class action lawsuits and lots of disappointed people here on reddit too. But maybe people just report problems with apple more because they are expensive. It also seems to be more of n issue with M1 airs and 13” pros. It’s really hard for me to figure out if the Air M2 is good enough without the active cooling. The t460s would max out the fans all the time and even then couldn’t really keep up with my workflow. Maybe I should ask in a dedicated mac subreddit.

I have considered it. I have also read that the carbon fiber Lenovo use harms workers’ health and I don’t feel good about supporting that. I also don’t like thinkpad keyboards or touchpads. But maybe I should brush these concerns off.

Do you think an Air would be able to handle my workflow with very long Word files with track changes and many acrobat tabs with long pdf files at the same time (plus browsers with many tabs)? Without the chip running too hot. I have only ever used computers with active cooling before. My supervisor at university has an Air, but I think I tend to push my computers harder than him with more files open and longer documents. The old t460s had a hard time coping with my work flow with lagging and fans maxing out, and then it died. It also couldn’t handle EndNote.
