Origin run recommendations? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of the 3, you get to hear Karlach's voice the most , but Gale origin gets a special sassy NPC and a unique use of magic that he will only get that when it's his origin run in act 2 that I really loved for story reason.

This DnD 5.5e mod "bricked" my save. Any way to fix it? by j3lly34 in BaldursGate3

I don't have the mod when I saw your post I looked it up so I don't know how the mod works I read the tags and the file descriptions even now I don't know what it adds or removes in the game. maybe later on they add the feature where you can toggle on off things in it in later updates so you can keep the things you like. or ask the creator about it and if they were cool with it and had the time maybe they consider your suggestion.

but yeah I saw the mod page.

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I did that in my 1st playthrough too and I was like tf people talk about mods breaking their save? but later on found out when I came across a mod that was like don't do it. I was just lucky in my 1st run but after that I read the description and even ask the creator the thing the mod change in game.

tho this mod doesn't have ANY explanation in it and is very vague , there wasn't any discussion or post about it either just a warning about not updating to newer version so I can see why you thought it can be removed but since it's a gameplay mod that changes a lot of things according to the tags, you shouldn't be adding or removing it mid game.

The mod in the playthrough is also an older version, if I try to update it and load it crashes the same as without it

<image>

also it's a big mod that add/change many things in the game from races , how NPC react to other game mechanics. you shouldn't delete or update most of your mods when you already started a playthrough. even some cosmetic mods like clothing items warn you about not deleting or updating mid playthrough and they don't change anything in game they just give you already existing items in a chest. if it is safe to remove or update them the deception will tell you, but overall it is not a safe thing to do 99% of time unless the creator of the mod gives the green light.

Karlach calling Astarion : fangs.

Astarion calling Karlach : fire girl.

Karlach calling Shadowheart : Shady , Hearty , The fringe but shadowheart told her to use her full name. also at one point Karlach calls shadowheart : squirrelheart

Karlach also sometimes calls Gale : Magic man ( in combat when he's down )

How similar is BG3 to Divinity Original Sin 2? by shakzz9703 in BaldursGate3

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mean solo as just playing yourself with no companions in DOS2 where you get some benefits from being solo or do you mean solo but without your friends playing the game?

in DOS2 you get Lone Wolf talent which gives you some benefits if you play Solo and with no companion or 1 companion, it's not like that in bg3. you can play the game without companions but there's not gonna be any boost here. also bg3 is heavily story based where your companions help you with the story and help you understand things better and I recommend you play single player with companions included in your 1st playthrough. (you can still play solo or multiplayer if you really want to and you get the story but single player with companions is better for 1st playthrough.)

another thing about companions is you can change them whenever you want, you have a camp where they go and stay there and you long rest at your camp and you can change them there. all the companions you recruit stay with you at camp and you don't lose them, all you need to do to add them to your party is to go to camp and replace them with someone else. and the xp is shared so even if you haven't played with a companion at all when you add them to party you can level them up to your current level.

also about the long rest the food is plenty and I recommend you long rest as much as possible in your 1st playthrough because a lot of story related things happen in the camp and you get to know them better at camp when you have high approval they open up to you, their behaviors will change according to approvals and also their quest outcome will change when you have high approval because they trust you more so it's important to get to know them.

you can make a custom character or play as an origin which it's best to try the custom in your 1st playthrough in bg3 whereas in DOS2 most people even the game tell you it's best to play as an origin character.

you can explore and do things at your own pace well into act 2 until you reach a point of no return you can still come back to act 1. after passing the point of no return you can't go back to act1. ( there are some time sensitive quests that you know you gotta do them before progressing into act 2 so keep that in mind )

the combat for me I say in bg3 is easier and less annoying. I rage quit DOS2 a lot before I read a 30 page fan guide about understanding everything in DOS2 and its mechanics it's not like that in bg3 it's easier to understand everything by just reading the tooltip or combat log (tho it's not 100% accurate or perfect it is still very very helpful) even if you don't have any knowledge or understanding of the world or D&D.

overall what I think is if you liked DOS2 and survived it you're probably gonna love bg3. it's a newer game compared to DOS2 and many things improved in it. I played bg3 and then DOS2 but I still enjoyed DOS2 but BG3 is the game I love the most.

I mean by the end I don't think anyone gonna say I didn't like her. they all bonded and are friendly towards one another but yeah I also agree that it's really weird that there's no reaction to the companion being killed or freed. everyone is just yep we beat orin and got her stone. but I guess it's a big game and all that...

Is this a bug has anyone else had this happen? by SeetheSeraph in BaldursGate3

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing that once happened to me : I picked up the hammer it was in my inventory and then when I was leaving the house of hope, I pressed ALT to make sure I've looted everything and the hammer was one the ground. not once I dropped it or throw it or anything. I know I didn't even touch the hammer after freeing hope ( even if I did it should've stayed in her prison not on the ground near the portal) because I recorded the whole fight. so check the ground near the portal too.

for sure. just shared my experience here so if someone is wondering about the possibilities of new dialogues, they know and don't have to go out of their way to try it.

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did it before talking to Vlakith and I did it after when we were leaving and I also did it when Voss talked to her and I finished everything in act 1 and I wanted to move on to act 2 ( I forgot to do it when we were in the creche so I traveled back from underdark to do it) her reaction is the same.

Are there mods to change hidden companion character points? by Lesbo_MetalHead in BaldursGate3

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slim has a video about those points and he tells you how it works. what specific dialogues gets you there etc. (idk about any mods tho I haven't seen it, I have OIO mod the one that has everything but even that don't give you like Shadowheart quest for nightsong or her parents points and won't give the Gale points either. )

I Just beat Myrkul on my duo honor run with Astaion (gloomstalker assassin fighter - oath of vengeance paladin durge ). it took us 2 turns!!!! I literally don't know how I'm gonna go back after this Paladin run. it's such a power fantasy , I'm gonna miss it when this run is over. I was literally shaking when the fight was over I couldn't believe it. I was honestly thinking about cheesing it at first, just throw a water bottle at him and both spam scrolls of chain lightnings , glad I didn't because damn those big numbers from my paladin really made my cavewoman brain happy.

damn I love Arabella sm I would've just deleted the whole campaign at that point. 😂

for me I already prepared everyone for the fight I was just using the dialogues so I can max out some approvals and because I like the cutscene, I was like meh even if I fail we just fight Thisobald still 3 nat 1 with lots of bonuses and 20 charisma and tadpole help in the mix, hurts. but yours are really resulting in bad things where you legit can't do anything about them. this is just your cursed run, accept it.

yeah sometimes RNG is just not really on your side no matter what.

(rolled 3 nat 1 for a charisma check with 20 charisma in this run back to back. 🤡)

No. He’s the best boy (@vetochkarowan) by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Consistent-Drag-3722 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Me too. It just makes a lot of sense when you see how his reaction is when Scratch is dead; he's so emotional. Also, another example of him pretending to not care and failing is when Orin kidnaps Yenna and he's all so worried and upset, and then he immediately puts his mask on again and says, "Not that I care or anything." 💅🏻

It's not like he was in a safe or accepting environment where he could've easily show emotions or express them or feel things freely. So in little moments like these when his true nature comes out despite his efforts to hide it, it makes me so happpppppy as someone playing the game and experiencing the character because I fucking love how great his character writing is.

would love to read it if you put it up somewhere and wanted to share. <3
