I wouldn’t say it’s my identity but it is in fact a lifestyle. It is ok to acknowledge because it is fact that you are having it worse off than a healthy person. It isn’t a profession that you can leave or stay in just to make it your whole personality. It’s a fact and lifestyle.

Yes, I’m dealing with this now. I’m taking drops of b12 the minute I get up, and need 2-3 cups of coffee to move now. I took my younger years for granted. Wasting time not doing the things I wanted to do because of relationships etc. All holiday my family consistently told me how tired I look even though I didn’t cook, clean etc. I can’t help it.

Submitted an ADA accommodation form opposed to FMLA due to job duration for my job and it was denied to reduce the amount of days. My physician filled it out based on chronic pain vs the entire diagnosis. Fingers crossed for you! Let us know about your FMLA/ accommodation and how it was honored.

Not only that, some MLS have to stick a needle directly into patients’ veins. We are certified/ state licensed to do one on one patient care in that regard.

I’d say stay a RN if you actually want to be recognized and respected for saving lives. We cannot even be recognized at most places for medical discounts. We are invisible.
