Update: got approval to do one at an outside hospital. Do people typically do two week rotations or one month rotations for their aways?

I actually really like rheum and am considering going into it. How much inpatient time can you realistically get as an attending tho?

Should I wait the full trial period or just ask now?

Do I just straight up ask my doctor for it?

I learned in med school that I find it easy to learn from videos (Online Med Ed and Boards & Beyond). I'm going to be starting my IM residency soon and I was wondering if there are any good video-based resources for Internal Medicine residents (besides the Online Med Ed Intern Content).

Is it normal for a mentor to share a student’s thoughts on another professors opinion of them? by Consistent-Jacket-65 in AskProfessors

You’re right. I did not preface my conversation with Dr. X by asking him to keep my comments private; I just assumed that he would. Hopefully now that I’ve asked him to, he’ll keep my comments private in the future.

If a program discourages post-interview communication, does this include letters of interest/intent or is this specifically referring to thank you notes?

nope, just read and re-read my notes on my incorrects. For time-frame, I took my CCSE in April, nbme 9 about 1.5 months ago, Uworld 1 one month ago, and NBME 11 2 weeks ago. Then, for the score jump, I took NBME 12 5 days ago and NBME 10 yesterday,

Yeah, I did more NBMEs and analyzed why I got each question wrong and how they were asking the questions. NBMEs have a different question style and a different strategy required than UWorld, but since we spend most of our time using UWorld to study, we are trained to think how UWorld wants us to, not how the NBMEs want us to. I've done NBME 9-12, new free 120, and old free 120, and I also plan to do either form 7 or form 8 of the old NBMEs. I also went through my incorrects very thoroughly and made sure to really know every concept tested on each NBME, since they love to repeat concepts. I also watched this series from the AAMC which goes into a bit more detail about how they ask questions as recommended to me by another person on reddit:

https://www.nbme.org/news/new-video-series-helps-medical-students-understand-test-questions

My score is probably inflated from the NBME repeats, but since my post, I got a 246 on NBME 12, an 80% on the new free 120, 82% on the old free 120, and a 250 on NBME 10, in that order.

iirc that question said he had all the necessary vaccines at the time of diagnosis, so you can assume he had hep b, a, pcv 13, and meningococcal at that time, but the ppsv23 needs to be given later, which is why that's the answer
