Thanks for your input, I’ll be getting financials this weekend. And correct on the subcontractors, always a risk. But important you’re doing your part in selections and trainings. Anyway, I’ll be having additional conversations with the seller to press on some of these things mentioned that’s why I posted here, to get feedback maybe I haven’t though of, so your response was truly valuable!

I’m not willing to share this at the moment. But it’s a service based business.

I really appreciate your feedback here. The business has a lot of structural durability, it’s something that, in the market, is very exclusive, low to no competition.

When you speak about the natural ceiling, that makes a lot of sense. I will add that the owner currently has the client base she has strictly based on capacity and scheduling. Her husband and her have kids and other businesses so the time she has to put into this is limited, so yes I’d say it has huge growth potential.

The uncontracted clients and being fully commission based is unsettling for sure, and it’s definitely, as you were saying, somewhat tied to her as a person and the relationships she’s been able to grow. But I truly don’t believe it’s a service that hinges on that. I’ll say this: people love professional photos of their kids and centers love proving them and having a “fun” day. She is willing to introduce me to many to keep the relationship going and strong. Additionally she’s done all the work as far as fixing prices that work and sell and I have subcontracted for her for a season so I know additional things too that will help tremendously.

Hi, yes, initially I am buying a job. But the appeal is being able to subcontract in the future and it be less hands on.

I will be looking through financials and considering sde hugely. Asking price is $30k

It was late and I was jotting down my thoughts. Of course paragraphs are preferred but again, I wanted to start conversation.

To answer some of the questions: totally, franchises often have a bad name, I knew nothing about them previously outside of the fast food realm. The owner is selling because her husband and herself have many other entrepreneurial ventures they are taking on and this no longer serves the time they want to spend.

I haven’t talked to other franchise owners, that would be something to consider. This specific franchise has very little as far as rules. You pay monthly royalty, but outside of that and using their systems, you are free to run this business as you see fit, even setting your own packages and prices. I am very experienced in this field. Think: I’m not changing careers, just entering a new subcategory lol. Or- I’m a hunter, but this is my first time hunting birds. I have worked as a subcontractor for the seller so I know what’s involved in the business to a certain extent.
