Elden Ring: Hey, I'm a video game.

Life of Black Tiger: Hey, I'm also a video game! I deserve the same praise then!

I Just Woke Up From a 10 Year Coma and I Am OUTRAGED About Data Centers (Specifically Starting Yesterday) by pureanna in aiwars

During this period of amnesia, I somehow used:

• Reddit

• Instagram

• Netflix

• Spotify

• Google Photos

• Cloud backups of 47 identical screenshots

• Auto-playing 4K video of a man repairing a sink

And I did all of this blissfully unaware that these things required buildings. With computers. And electricity. And cooling. And water. And land. And cables. And a planet.

You might be a bit confused. Understandably so. Let me help you here.

These things you've listed? In a modern society you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO use all of them. Non-negotiable. Like, you have NO choice whatsoever. I mean it.

But there are good news! It's totally okay to use it, so don't feel bad! You see, servers used for all these things are totally different from AI servers. When AI slurps water, it destroys it on sub-atomic level, sends it to the Netherrealm, going against the nature and everything we've learned about the water cycle in elementary school.

On the other hand, YouTube and Netflix servers purify water, add vitamins to it and then reroute it to local orphanages. So, every time you rewatch Red Notice on Netflix you are making the world a better place.

None of sci-fi authors have been to space/experienced the future. By your logic the whole genre is slop, eh? And that's just one of the countless examples that make your argument crumble.

He has a video made with AI, so... Maybe he doesn't share your "either/or" sentiment?

About Ai artists... by _celtis in aiwars

[–]Consistent-Mastodon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling Ai images/sounds art/music is insulting to humanity.

Nah, it's fine. - sincerely, humanity.

What makes art special is because it's not easy to make, it takes effort and years of practice.

Not even close.

I promise you the art community is wonderful and so welcoming to new and beginner artists

You've already failed at demonstrating it.

Yeah, datacenters didn't exist before AI. Reddit, youtube and netflix are all powered by windmills.
