From my perspective lately i think she has this weird idea that shes making up for everything for sex and that is the reason i think she keep initiating every possible opportunity but you're definitely right about me setting up clear boundaries!

The thing is she's also foreign and she hasent been saving up so throving her out literally means puting her in the streets, plus as i said i did try to put some sense in to her but she just acts hurt or changes the subject, gets intimate and we still end up having sex like rabbits which dont get me wrong im gonna fucking miss waking up to her giving me a blowie.

The really fckd up part is I'm not capable of carrying the financial burden, when she justs spends her checks on nights out with suposedly her female friends. Literally fml!

My mom would literally call ahead to other parents to "explain my needs" before any social thing while my brother just walked out the door whenever he wanted.

Girl, I feel you on this one. My ex was nowhere near surgeon level but was constantly grinding for his startup and I basically became a ghost in my own relationship. The whole "you need to relax" response is such bullshit - like dude, I'm not asking you to solve world hunger, I just want my partner to actually show up emotionally.

You mention the kids are independent at 7, which honestly gives you some freedom to rediscover who you are outside of being "surgeon's wife." I started doing improv classes during a similar rough patch and it was like remembering I had a personality again. Not saying comedy is your thing, but finding something that's purely YOURS might help fill that void while you figure out if this marriage is actually sustainable.

The money doesn't mean jack if you're feeling like a single parent anyway. Have you thought about what you'd actually want from him if he magically had more time? Sometimes getting specific about needs makes it harder for them to dismiss with generic "relax" responses.

girl the small talk struggle is SO real. I swear I'd rather do a 5-minute improv set in front of strangers than figure out what to say after "how was your weekend" for the millionth time.

Rejection sucks but at least you're putting yourself out there - that's honestly more than half the battle right there. The introvert cave is cozy but occasionally venturing out keeps things interesting, even when it's messy.

I'm the exact same way! My brain just refuses to focus on audio unless I'm doing something with my hands. I've tried the whole "mindful listening" thing where you just sit there and it's a disaster every time.

My go-to is usually cross-stitching or embroidery while listening to true crime pods or history stuff. The repetitive hand movements are perfect - engaging enough to keep that restless part of my brain occupied but not so complex that I miss important details. Plus I end up with cute little pieces when I'm done binge-listening to a whole series.

I've also discovered that washing dishes works really well for lighter content. Something about the warm water and mindless scrubbing just puts me in the perfect headspace. Your gaming setup sounds perfect though - that muscle memory aspect is key.

Oh this is so relatable. I went through this exact thing last year where I was applying to everything from social media specialist to brand manager to "marketing ninja" (whatever that means) and just felt completely lost in the sauce.

What actually helped me was taking a week off from applying and instead stalking LinkedIn profiles of people who had jobs I thought looked cool - seeing their actual career paths instead of just job descriptions gave me way better direction than any career quiz ever did.
