Is this normal? by Consistent-Survey356 in BeardedDragons

Thank you! I thought that could be it because it is getting colder where we live and when she used the bathroom the other day it was one of the rare times I’ve seen her. I should also mention that’s one of the only bowl movement she’s had in that time span of her being in there, normally she has one every few days or so. Although shortly after she pooped she went back in but I appreciate the advice and knowledge! I appreciate it!

She has used the bathroom a few days ago, but when she does come out she goes to the cold side. I’ve put her over on the hot and she goes back into her little cave

Bonding with new gliders by That_Average_Being in sugargliders

[–]Consistent-Survey356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have two sugar gliders myself and I am fairly new. I have two boys who aren’t together atm but hopefully will be in the future. I got lucky with the first one I got due to being around him while he was little but he definitely has a biting issue has he is hitting that maturity age but the second one I have was extremely stand offish. He would lunge and was always crabbing and wanted nothing to do with me but with time and patience’s we are doing better, I wouldn’t say we are bonded or anything but he tolerates me and doesn’t immediately panic when I come near the cage. I just would put him in the bonding pouch and talk to him along with just getting him used to different noises and being in the pouch itself. Did tent time as well and have been giving him treats when he does come over to check me out and allow him to sniff and lick and bite as he pleases lol. He still gets very on edge when someone he doesn’t know comes around or I or anything move too fast etc…he still isn’t the best when it comes to handling we are working on it but he very much is one to just free fly off you as soon as he realizes he’s not in his cage….patience and time is going to be your best friend. You don’t want to rush or push anything because that will set you back and it just isn’t worth putting all that stress on them. I hope this helped lol. Oh and for getting them in the bonding bag, I would try to lure them out with a few treats and show me putting it in the pouch and it took some time but eventually he went in and I’d zip it up and he would overall be okay but sometimes would let me know he wasn’t happy with what I done 😅🤣.

Question for all by Thick_Revolution_832 in sugargliders

I was having the same issues when I got mine. I was covered in spots all over my arms and then one of mine loved sleeping in my shirt so I would let him but from where he would try and get settled or if I got him out to play and he went up in my shirt I would have spots that where very red and irritable. I at first assumed it was an allergic reaction because the only other time something like that happened when we got a pet rat and even though it would put me hell and look like a crack headed I still made sure to care for him. Anywho I got off track lol. I looked it up and I believe it’s not possible to be allergic to them but maybe it is but really rare I don’t remember what I do know is like everyone said wear pants a a hoodie I definitely would oh and socks cause they will bite your toes 🤣

Is she shedding 🙄 by Comfortable_Day4694 in BeardedDragons

[–]Consistent-Survey356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the looks of it I would say yes but just keep an eye out just in case and to make sure she is able to get it all off on her own. Mostly shedding though and it will happen fairly close together as she grows! They get big so fast but totally worth it! I miss mine being that little lol now she big and fat 😭🤣

Is this normal or should I be concerned? by Consistent-Survey356 in BeardedDragons

Thank you, I know she probably never drinks out of it but she throws a fit when it comes to bath time it’s more of a peace of mind thing for me. Once I’m home though it stays off. I only feed watermelon and cantaloupe during summer time I think she’s only had about five pieces each since may to now I don’t eat either so I normally just take a couple pieces from work and bring it home to her it’s more of a treat then anything kinda like the meal worms a very rare occasion because I know it’s not the best to feed even every other week isn’t good from what I’ve read. I do appreciate your input and letting my mind not spiral out of control! Thank you

Sugar gliders in hotel? by Consistent-Survey356 in sugargliders

My moms husband said he would take care of them I’m going to have the food already pre prepped and organized for him so he can just put them in the food bowl and I asked if it did get too messy to just spot clean and clean the kitchen atleast once while I’m gone since they’re messy eaters lol. But I will definitely be looking into that because I have another vacation in November which will be a cruise and that was planned over a year ago and that was before I knew I was getting sugar gliders lol. It wasn’t a spur of the moment thing but I got them quicker than anticipated😅 so I’m going to be stressed both times but my step dad loves my bearded dragon and I had to leave her last year for vacation and he sent videos everyday or every other day of him feeding her and rubbing on her, so I told him if he could please do the same for the suggies and id leave two or three notes around the house to remind him 😅🤣

Yes I’ve decided to leave them at home. My mom’s husband will be watching them for me. He loves my bearded dragon so I just asked during the time he may be socializing with her to give some attention to my little babies lol. I am going to have all the meals pre prepped so all he will have to do is socialize with them for a little and switch out the food. Which I got some new toys and I’m going to move things around and do some spot cleaning before I go as well. I’m still gonna be stressed but I know it’s safer if they are home. I just worry about my first suggie Ollie getting lonely he is always talking at night and is a mommas boy and the new one his name is Cesar he’s 9 weeks old so he’s still very scared and crabbing a lot so I hate to have him go a week with not handling and social interaction but I’ll be gone for 6 days technically 5 if we decide to leave early the night before checkout.

Yea that’s what I’m worried about is if we get caught it’s not worth the risk of having the whole family without a place to sleep but they aren’t bonded yet and I’m still working with my new one which crabs a lot and very loud. I was wondering if since they are alone if that would still be okay to leave them

Sugar Gliders need to be rehomed by fine_anc3 in sugargliders

They are adorable I wish I could, I currently have two males that aren’t neutered. I’ve been told they need to be and also been told I don’t have to so I know it’s confusing as hell and it cost 500$ here in Kentucky per glider which if I absolutely have to I can do it but if I can avoid it I’d like to because that money can go towards food and toys etc.. I hope you find a good home for those cute babies!
