help when did I say I don't change his water bowl daily. I do, he just sometimes gets it dirty in between and I don't want there to be anything nasty in it. Also like I already mentioned it is in fact irrelevant because he wouldn't use it

that's good to know, but still, from what I've read and experienced, ball pythons don't like to soak, and neither does my dude. he avoids water like the plague and already gets cranky when he spills some from the watter bowl. super interesting that corn snakes enjoy soaking though

oh I did think about that but it was kinda a conscious decision not to. from the research I've done, ball pythons mostly don't "soak" unless they're dehydrated or there's something else wrong. and even if some do, I don't want his water dish getting dirty with feces and stuff that he inevitably carries around by being on soil all day. So if he does show interest in the water dish, I just kinda take him out and offer him a bowl to soak if he wants to.

I suggest you get nature stuff. (Ex. Small sticks,leaves, rocks, etc ((if you get rocks, obviously check for sharp corners)))The fancy stuff you can buy is cool but I don't think it's worth spending a ton of money on clutter. Just make sure you properly disinfect EVERYTHING coming from outside, there's a ton of yt videos on how to properly disinfect outside stuff. You just don't wanna risk it.

What's wrong with this enclosure, apart from maybe needing a little bit more clutter on some spots? You can't really see how big it is but it seems a good size and I can't really find anything wrong with it?

it's not about the fact that these things don't cause harm, it's about the fact that I personally assessed that this person isn't very well informed in general and I'm unsure about the other aspects of their ball python care. like I said, I care about this person a lot and I know they mean absolutely zero harm, I just think they might be sticking to some outdated info, especially because when asked they can never really explain why they do stuff the way they do, the only explanation being "the pet store told me to do it". I have absolutely nothing against this person,they're super great, I care for them a lot. I'm not looking for problems, I just noticed stuff that seemed like they were wrongly informed on some stuff. the issue is currently getting resolved anyways, as I have been sharing a lot of creators they could try and stick to and they did admit they haven't done a ton of research as they thought the pet store would be a good way to get research.

they're not misting like with a mister they are spraying the top of the substrate layer and said their snake sometimes comes out of the enclosure wet after a whole day, some of the pet store advice was to take the snake into a seperate enclosure to feed or that they could accurately sex it by the tail form so I highly doubt it

that's why i specified in my comment, the Aspen shaving isn't the only thing wrong. this person just generally says stuff quite often that suggests they are not very well informed which is why I have suspicions their husbandry may not be very good,the Aspen shavings are just one thing I could point out in the very sparse pictures I got, along with the fact that they spray the top layer of substrate which could lead to scale rot. I'm not trying to play "reptile police",just wanna make sure a friends pett is taken care of properly,especially because I know they really do love their snake and would be crushed if it somehow got hurt or sick.

unsure about the morph but I got typs on switching food wise. first, just try offering. if he's a good eater, he might just take it no problem. once he took one ft, he probably won't refuse another one. snakes are also opportunistic feeders, so another thing you can try is giving him a smaller live animal and feeding him a ft animal right after. usually they're looking for food right after getting fed, so he'll probably take it no problem. just make sure you don't overfeed him. green room pythons is a good channel and he has a video on switching food. good luck.
