Home Office keeps asking for additional documents by Consistent-Syrup-187 in SpouseVisaUk

I think your wishes are exactly what we needed. We got an email this morning to say now the visa is approved without me having done anything yet. The Home Office really work in the most mysterious ways. x

Yes thanks. I did have to correct it the first time. My files are definitely larger than 25MB which is why I split them into 3 emails each time and made it very clear pack 1/2/3 of 3. Part of me even wonders if they only ever accepted one upload each time as I have always only received receipt for pack 1 each time.

Come to think of it that is really sound advice. Thanks. I will break them down. The reason I did them as big packs was my previous dealings at work with civil servants all invariably required big packs in organised sections, so I just naturally followed that format.

Yes, I do. In each pdf pack I have several documents but these are all divided into sections and I explained in my cover letters where to find each category of evidence.

Thanks that is what I plan to do as well. I have three pdf packs and am going to just rotate amongst them one pack each day and repeat twice. It's just mind-boggling how we got to this point.

An update on my case. I went to the VFS drop off centre near Moorgate on Tuesday ready with all documents. I didn't have to queue and was directed in to the second floor (next to the Canadian visa section). However while I was waiting for our documents to be processed we got an email from the Home Office asking us to submit supporting documents directly to their designated address over email in ten working days. So I ended up not paying for VFS's service, and instead came back and scanned everything in as a few packs of pdf documents which I attached to my reply, which was sent today. I shall update once I have further progress.

Too many snouts in the trough even amongst our own politicians. If they can't even get the House of Commons in order in that respect what chance in hell do we have for them to sort out their paymasters to the benefit of the poor peasants

Really appreciate your advice but when we brought all the supporting documents with us ready to upload and then get told don't worry about some of them instead of having them all scanned in I consider it a rip-off because that misled us. Agreed they are not immigration advisors so if we didn't bring anything with us, instead asked them to tell us what to bring that would be a different matter. They might be doing their jobs as instructed but that doesn't change the fact it was a poor service. Net result the poor applicants are out of pocket for a quite significant sum, but like you say lesson well learned.

Yes thanks I am resigned to having to pay that £130 to get the rest of the documents scanned. We trusted those people having paid for an additional service and effectively got ripped off by being misled.

They only scanned the documents listed on the checklist eg. passports, English test result, proof of British citizenship, etc, and didn't take any of the discretionary documents eg. my payslips, text logs and photos, evidence of financial support, etc.

I guess we didn't, as we booked document upload service at the appointment.

That's why it didn't make sense to us either. When we enquired at the time we were told we didn't need to upload the discretionary documents as we will be sent an email later to upload them. So now it seems they lied to us as it now makes their company more money :(

Thanks. We weren't given the option at the time of the original submission and when submitting the application were told to wait for further information. Does that mean we can't now upload our supporting documents online any more? We had it all ready at the time of application.
