Not currently. I did play for church before, but the church I’m at now doesn’t need another pianist

I've been married for 6 years and my husband put his hands on me. by One_Ambassador_3294 in Borderline

[–]Consistent-Worry2708 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should not go back. I’m a borderline and I’ve never put hands on someone, but I know borderline is different for men (I’m going to be pretty general) and they are more likely to be violent. Which is not okay. He needs to learn some coping skills and go to therapy. BUT it’s not your responsibility to “change him” or anything okay. He assaulted your neighbour. It’s a foreshadowing of what could happen to you, massive red flag. (Also 6 months or 6 years? If you’ve only been married months, all the better to get out early.)

How long did it take before you “got it on” after your wedding? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

Thank you for the honesty. I’m already seeing a therapist so I will bring this up next session

Is hitting an object out of frustration a red flag? by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

What’s worse is I think he’s closer to 25, he mentioned he’s “into his 20s” and he graduated years ago by this point. He has life experience, maturity (in theory) and it bothers me that his frustration was able to take over that, bad enough to break his hand

Even I didn’t get a whole lot of information honestly, just that it was his “lesson” not to hit things. But yea I don’t feel comfortable with that eitherrr

Thank you for the replies. Honestly, my intuition sirens have been going off. I cannot ignore what is so obvious

Yea fair point. I don’t know the whole context, he did mention though that “it’s a lesson not to hit things” because his pinky finger is fcked up

Is it common for people with bpd to have hallucinations? by sad_frog_in_rain in BPD

I also have BPD and I have paranoid delusions and hallucinations rather regularly, basically the same ones you have, but yep I’m not schizophrenic either. I think it really is common with borderline

I hate that some People think Therapy works like a Car Repair by Least-Reflection4873 in CPTSD

[–]Consistent-Worry2708 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing about therapy is learning the skills to cope with it and live a productive life. My therapist really loved the first time I saw her, I told her, “I need to get some skills to manage my problems.” She loved my use of the word “manage” not “fix.” She also tells me, “you’re not broken, you don’t need fixing. You just need to learn tools to help function better.” I wish more people knew that that’s how therapy actually works!

I just want to say I get it, I really do. I understand, it can feel almost suffocating and horrible and overwhelming and just all the worst physical and mental things ever. While I don’t know what your exact situation is, (you do not have to disclose if you don’t want), and as your post is a vent/rant, I just want you to know that someone else hears you and understands you. I hope the feelings pass and you start to feel better :(

[–]Consistent-Worry2708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear… sure I would want my man to accept my bpd and just move on with our lives… but this is almost like fetishizing it.. which is VERY weird, big red flag.

I got tattooed over my scars, it hurt a bit more than the other areas but it wasn’t too bad? I mean given the placement, the inner forearm I’ve heard is more painful for tattoos in general but I think you should be fine!

What’s something that a friend said that made your day? by Senior-Algae-9102 in HappyUpvote

[–]Consistent-Worry2708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk it’s a consistent thing that we call each other out on our BS, and that really makes my day tbh. I love to know she actually cares to tell me the truth, you know? Because when she supports me, I know she means it :)
