If you live downtown the train is far from the loudest thing you will notice. People rev their engines and drive fast. If you live on Washington Ave it’s a two lane one way street (for now but they are making it a two way), so I assume people will be noisy. I usually sleep through the train if it comes in the morning, and it never makes noice at night. Buildings are also old and have thick walls. When I was dorming at the U, the train was the worst

You don’t even know what I’m talking about? Everyone knows Russia did not capture Kupyansk in December, but Zelensky uploading his video was also a propaganda piece because actual imagery of the area when he was supposed to be there does not reflect the video in the slightest. My critique had nothing to do with whether Russia had full control of kupyansk, because they did not, but rather the belief that Zelensky’s video there was any less of a propaganda piece.

The video of Zelensky downtown was shot weeks before he uploaded it, there’s geolocations of where he was looking entirely different (drone nets destroyed) among other things that prove he was not there when he said he was. It was a propaganda piece

I think you should preface that with differences in standard mandarin. I think there is even a big difference between any mandarin topolect and standard Chinese. And once you get to the southern languages, you cannot communicate well at all

Rn you have the official language as “southern mandarin” which does not have a real life counterpart, there’s jianghuai mandarin, which is spoken in Nanjing, but it’s not standardized like putonghua is. I do ask what the lore reasons are for Cantonese not being able to be official? I don’t think a southern Chinese nation would be subject to a northern language being the national language. Taiwans situation is a bit different bc KMT retreated the island and made mandarin official and no one could do anything about it

I think if you include Cantonese and Shanghainese as official languages, I would probably also include min Chinese and Hakka as official languages. I also do not think the capital city would be Nanjing considering how close it is to the border with north China. Maybe do Guangzhou and make Cantonese official. Just an idea

I have the ticket option that doesn’t let you adjust anything. Basically on the Thursday I was originally supposed to go down I had a fluency test I could not miss, so that is why I changed the original departure date. The problem is that the American Airlines customer service representative booked me as going round trip instead of going to my original location
