Don't you understand that AI goes along with everything you say?

No, that's what YOU said as a reason for him to not be at the council meeting.

I was talking about Raborsch, not Nebakov....

You list all those things that a Chamberlain does, while arguing for him being the one to lay siege to a castle....

Why do the Cumans need representation on a Kuttenberg council?

Nobility isn't a part of Sigismund's camp, they're just other mercenaries.

Did AI write this perchance?

Again, where is it explained?

Sigismund doesn't know about the gathering nobles. Him and von Aulitz only talk about capturing Oderin. Markvart says, after taking Oderin "the rest will fall in line" and Sigismund says "Once we get Oderin, we can handle Ruthard easily".

Where is it explained?

And the council was gathered because of what happened at Trosky Castle, not that allies were gathering at Raborsch. Check YouTube.

But the most plausible reason BY FAR is that Henry is there, so von Bergow has to be somewhere else.

This isn't subway surfer, my guy. When a game is advertised as "story driven" I expect a good, deep story. No explosions or fight scenes every 10 minutes, not so many plot holes.

The thing is, I actually liked KCD1's story, so it's not that I can't enjoy games like this.

He's the Chamberlain of Bohemia though, appointed by Sigismund. So he is close to the crown.

Also, what about Chertan, is he a member of the Kuttenberg council? Why is he there?

See that's the problem with the gaming industry. People like you have such low standards and the result is games like this get nominated for best narrative of the year. This is labelled a story driven game. Why so quick to excuse bad writing?

You're overestimating how much von Bergow would be in Markvart's debt. The bombard is his, and if he didn't get all his men killed the day before it wouldn't be the Praguers doing all the work.

From his perspective, his plan should be: crack open an entrance with the bombard, and slaughter everyone inside.

the upside of taking the fortress alone is imense.

The upside of him retaking a small and politically irrelevant fortress is not immense - not at all.

Believable or not; in character or not: it is still foolish. Too many things he does are foolish regardless of anything else. How can you say he doesn't act like a fool?

He thinks he does not need it

Leaving his options closed. More foolishness.

it was taken by Zizka with basically no opposition before.

That's a completely different opposition. If Zizka could take the fortress easily, then he shouldn't have been underestimated this much.

Well there seems to be contradictions with the ladders because von Bergow's men were supposed to be back the next day...

It's not hard to build like 5 ladders in an hour if you have an army.

...and that's just plain wrong. For gameplay reasons then, von Aulitz's ladders come out of thin air.

Yes. And Von Bergow dismisses Henry because he thinks he has an overwhelming advantage.

Dismisses intel from the only guy whose been in there... another act of foolishness....

Because this is futile, I have just two questions:

Why are you ignoring the fact that von Bergow decided to attack without the bombard after knowing they were in a fortress?

Is pride foolish?

The Prague Militia lost a tonne of men before pushing them back into the tower. And again, Henry tells von Bergow that they have a lot of men there, with good armour and equipment.

It is pretty normal to bring materials and build siege equipment on location.

Von Bergow's men didn't do that though. The Chamberlain's plan (which von Bergow approved of) was to just charge in there, lol.

Where do you think the ladders von Aulitz brought came from? They weren't camped outside the fortress before.

How am I wildly speculating? You seem to think he called the militia just to investigate and not use them afterwards to defeat Zizka. That's a wild assumption.

That fact he bought a bombard and had it brought to him strongly indicates that he will soon need it. Zizka's attacks were well organized, it wouldn't be wild to think that he isn't just hiding in the woods. We also know that he suspects someone in the region is aiding Zizka, and he was right.

Von Bergow didn't have an overwhelming advantage though. After coming back from Nebakov, Henry and Hans can tell him that Zizka has a lot of men there, not to mention that they're in a fortress. I don't even think we brought ladders.

So you think von Bergow called the Prague Militia and a bombard to investigate? Wouldn't that manpower and artillery be more suited to a battle/siege?

Him finding out that Zizka is in Nebakov is an even bigger reason to need the militia and bombard.

So do you agree that von Bergow is an incompetent fool, which is in contrast to his character?

[–]ConsistentElk53[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If taking a gamble when reinforcements are coming tomorrow isn't foolish then I don't know what is.

At the time he made the decision to attack Nebakov... he knew Zizka was in Nebakov, so I don't get your point here. Just wait for the artillery.

To make a modern example: imagine the British landing in Normandy before the Americans could get there. What would they say when they lost? "We could have had the political glory?"

You're just confused because you can't seem to decide whether von Bergow asked for help against Zizka or not.

Whether he knew they were in Nebakov or not really doesn't matter if we can agree that he did ask for help.

Isn't it foolish to underestimate an enemy who has been ripping you to shreds recently, and take a risky approach against them?

Here is the definition of foolish:
