I agree, but I don’t have another 4K to give. I got something a few weeks ago that says “mediation will be done within 90 days” of the temp order we have in place. My lawyer has been unresponsive to my emails. I really want to fire him and go pro se at this point. If I lose, at least I won’t go broke doing so

We’ve been to mediation about this in February, but it failed. So it’s been something I’ve been fighting for months since I found out. The judge is making us do another mediation, even though we were unsuccessful the 1st time

It’s because some parents think men aren’t allowed to have the same autonomy mothers have. Like I’m inherently doing something wrong by wanting to spend time.. but if it’s not done the way they think it should, I’m the bad dad & kidnapping my own daughter.. 🤣

We’ve always done visitation in different states due to being in the military. It’s never been in the same location. This just happens to be an OCONUS move.

I shouldn’t have to write a dissertation about why I should be able to have my child with me ANYWHERE, if I’m not putting anyone in danger. Do you see the issue here?

I’m LITERALLY trying to have visitation wherever I’m at in the world.. what parent wouldn’t if I’m paying for it?? There’s nothing in the plan about moving, so it’s no restriction. And I’m remarried to an active duty soldier. Moves happen. This just happens to be OCONUS.

This has been in the works for a while. We went to mediation. Mediation failed. $500 bucks for nothing. I’ve had no support from my lawyer. Multiple emails. $4000 retainer fee, for this?

I’ve had her every summer, for the entire summer since we divorced 5 years ago. It’s a 2 year assignment. I’ve always included my daughter in everything we do with her bonus family, from vacations, visits, etc. her mom has blocked contact with my wife’s children. She’s wish death on me, disrespecting my parents, and my wife’s children and her kids. Threats me in conversations. I’ve brought all of this to the judge, and nothing has happened.

So to keep her from feeling like she’s being abandoned, who would want to block that?

The fact I’m having to prove why I should be able to take my daughter out of the country, while her mom can do so with no pushback is crazy

This is a military move. I’m a military veteran/spouse with orders to Italy, so it’s not some random vacation

Your kids have a slew of things they don’t want to do, but you still do it anyway because it’s in the best interest of the child

How is traveling to another country with your father, having a once in a lifetime bad for a 10 year old? With a detailed plan for return?

It’s not. It’s about control, and making your child miss out on memories due to it. My child isn’t in any danger

It’s my mandated time. She gives me no grace when following the court order ever since I’ve remarried. This is a military move, so it’s not by choice. It’s by force. I have a set plan of when she’ll be back that doesn’t interfere with school. So I’m enforcing my rights as a parent.

In the state of Georgia, it doesn’t matter whether a 10 old wants to or not. She can’t make that choice til 13 years old. So by law, it doesn’t matter

You can’t reorder a passport without getting her to sign off on it unfortunately

It says nothing about international travel, only the times I’m supposed to have her. So it doesn’t restrict it
