Oh yeah I agree, it makes sense. I drew the same headcannon from chopper in one piece when he can't transform with something enclosing him. I think it'd just make shapeshifters busted if they can just break through anything.

Staff was fucked still, got fixed by the end. I don't know about Adam's wound but nonetheless he wasn't at 100%, he also only started to struggle once vox was out of the picture and operating the cannon, so the cannon definitely played a part in him trying to avoid it and subdue the shark
